First of all, when I first watched the official trailer of the movie I didn't like it and I didn't had high expectations about it. Eventually, it was better than I had imagined and I enjoyed it, a lot. The movie synopsis was kinda interesting, but it wasn't really innovative because there are too many movies similar to this one. The concept of the movie was kinda nice, but the storyline wasn't as well-explained as I would like and there were some plot holes during the movie. The main characters were very interesting, well-developed and likeable. The casting choices were nice and their performances were descent. I have to admit, it was a very scary, intense movie and there were many jumpscares. Also, the creature's appearance was very creepy and the practical effects were very well-done. The opening scene was kinda unpredictable and fast-paced, but it wasn't really promising. Gladly, the 2nd and 3rd act were both great and kinda terrifying. The ending was absolutely predictable, but I enjoyed it a lot. Last but not least, the cinematography and the score of the movie were both great. Overall, "It Feeds" was a nice supernatural horror film, very scary, intense and I would definitely recommend it to anyone!
The movie was really interesting as a concept and Ashley Greene was incredible in it. I really didn't know how much of good actress she was, she really embodied the role and made it so believable, I was surprised. Not sure what I expected, but not this good.
I can definitely see this having one or even multiple sequels as a lot more stories can be told with the main characters and the premises let us as viewers wonder how she got to do what she does and other patients she could have helped or might help in the future.
The actress playing her daughter also did a fantastic job.
Really enjoyed the movie.

It Feeds had potential, but unfortunately, it gets lost somewhere between its own confusion and a lackluster delivery. The premise could have been chilling - a mysterious force feeding off fear, maybe guilt, maybe something deeper - but the movie never quite figures out what it's trying to say, or how to say it.
The acting ranges from wooden to wildly over-the-top, making it hard to feel connected to any of the characters. The pacing drags in parts where it should build tension, and when things finally start to pick up, it's too little, too late. The "twist" (if you can call it that) lands with a dull thud, and any meaningful horror is undercut by odd dialogue and strange editing choices.
On the plus side, the creature design is decent, and a couple of atmospheric shots manage to evoke some eerie vibes. But those fleeting moments aren't enough to salvage the experience.
Overall, It Feeds feels like it's trying to ride the coattails of smarter, scarier horror films - but ends up a half-baked mess that neither feeds the fear nor the imagination.

This isn't the first horror film starring Ashley Greene in the lead role, and compared to "The Apparition" from years earlier, "It Feeds" is an improvement.
Because of the title, "It Feeds" may have you thinking it has something to do with "It Follows" from eleven years earlier, but that isn't true. They are different films with barely anything in common. The idea of some evil creature that has no name does not yet make "It Feeds" a copy of something that came before.
The main character portrayed by Ashley Greene may remind you of either The Warrens from "The Conjuring" horror film series or Shaun San Dena, the psychic from Sam Raimi's "Drag Me to Hell", but neither is "copied and pasted", they just have an element or two in common, which isn't a problem. Also, and one should be able to tell this from the very trailer, "It Feeds" is reminiscent of "Insidious".
A more interesting comparison, and a more accurate one, would be "Nosferatu" by Robert Eggers from just a year earlier. One may end up thinking writer and director Chad Archibald saw that film and wanted to try his own take at the villain from that film, only Archibald with "It Feeds", unlike Eggers with his "Nosferatu", isn't disgustingly cheap when it comes to physical violence, mind over matter, indeed.
Long story short, the film may lack originality, but it does work. Why? Because of the characters and the script, interestingly enough, again, it may not be all that original, but it, the script, is put together with care, is no stranger to detail and the concept of "set up and pay off", and as for the characters, they have lives, histories and motivations, they do come across as real human beings, and you care about them.
Visually, there isn't anything special, and the sound isn't outstanding either, they are both competent, nothing more, but nothing less. That is a good way to describe this film, competent, no more, no less.

Generic, unimaginative, formulaic. Not the worst horror movie I've seen, but it certainly wasn't very good.
The performances from the two young actresses in the film were extremely weak and over-acted, and one of them is supposed to be Ashley Greene's daughter, despite only looking about 10 years younger than her which took me out of the film quite a lot. Ashley herself did a decent job with the script she was given, though.
Every beat in this movie was predictable and clichéd, down to the creepy kid drawings and ineffective jump scares. The script was bland and offered nothing new or unique, and there was no unsettling imagery or scares to elevate the material.
Overall, I recommend skipping this one.

Ah, a world premiere! It's been a while since I attended one of those. It is somewhat important (or, at least, more than welcome) for the first user-comment here on IMDb to be positive and encouraging others to go and see the title. Now, I know the title of my comment doesn't sound too enthusiastic, but -rest assured - "It Feeds" is a more than adequate, entertaining, and professionally made piece of monster/demonic horror from Canada!
Beautiful Ashley Green stars as Cynthia Winstone; - a psychiatrist with an authentic psychic gift/talent. You know how they say psychiatrists are trying to get inside your head? Well, Cythia does this literally! By putting her finger on the patient's forehead, she joins him/her on a mind and memories' trip to uncover repressed traumas. She protects herself, and her 17-year-old daughter Jordan, by not accepting cases that are too involving and mentally exhausting, because that's how she lost her husband. When a teenage girl with horrible scars on her body comes begging for help, claiming an evil entity is literally feeding on her from the inside out, Cythia simply knows the case will be pure hell. And she's right, of course!
The term "suspension of disbelief" seems to be invented for horror movies like these. It's an absurd plot, there aren't any explanations or backgrounds given, people make the dumbest decisions, police officers are beyond incompetent, etc. Etc. And yet, I can't be too harsh on "It Feeds" because writer/director Chad Archibald clearly didn't have the pretention of making an intelligent & psychological supernatural thriller, but merely a fast-paced and feisty B-horror with a nasty demon in it. And from that angle, Archibald succeeded, as his film is chock-full of jump scares (some of which are quite effective) and extremely loud and eerie sound effects. I watched "It Feeds" at the Brussels International Fantastic Film Festival, and at several times I saw people jump in their seats and hurl with fright. That's a mission accomplished then, I'd say.
Additional score of half a point because the animated end-credits are really cool.

Imagine if Hallmark decided to try their hand at a horror film. It Feeds is a lame attempt at horror and seems to be aimed at a pre-teen crowd. As an adult who loves horror films I just kept yawning. When the film was suppose to be scary, and it never was, it just got very loud, so much so that it gave me a headache. I like Shawn Ashmore and while this is beneath him , he is barely in it. Instead the cast was uniformly unappealing in every way. No atmosphere, no great cinematography, no suspense, honestly I was rooting for the demon. At times this looked so cheap, it appeared to be filmed in a really bad haunted house attraction. I'm not positive, but I assume this was filmed in Canada because it had that un-professional made in Canada look. Not worth watching even once.

Stumbling upon the 2025 horror movie "It Feeds" by random chance, I had no idea what I was in for. I have to say that it hardly mattered, as it being a horror movie that I hadn't already seen was more than sufficient to make me give it a chance.
And I am glad that I did, because writer and director Chad Archibald delivered an enjoyable and entertaining movie. It was actually refreshing to sit down and watch a proper horror movie for a change, as many recent horror movies have been generic, stereotypic and bland. So thumbs up for the delivery of the script that shaped the movie "It Feeds".
The acting performances in "It Feeds" were good, and there are some familiar faces on the cast list, with the likes of Shawn Ashmore, Ashley Greene and Julian Richings.
The visuals and special effects in the movie are good. I liked the design of the entity that was latching itself unto people. And the movie had an overall semi-brooding atmosphere to it, that definitely helped add to the overall enjoyment of the movie.
If you enjoy horror movies, then you most definitely should sit down and watch "It Feeds".
I was genuinely and wholeheartedly entertained by "It Feeds", and it definitely is a movie that I would recommend to horror fans. This is how to properly writer and direct a horror movie.
My rating of writer and director Chad Archibald's 2025 movie "It Feeds" lands on a six out of ten stars.

Honest review : It feeds - 2/10.
It Feeds is a painfully generic horror film that brings absolutely nothing new to the table. The acting is atrocious - especially the daughter, whose performance is so flat and emotionless it feels like a high school play gone wrong. The story is riddled with clichés, from the haunted house setup to the clueless family making every wrong move imaginable. The only thing that halfway works are the jumpscares - and even those feel cheap and predictable. If you're looking for real horror, this isn't it. This movie feeds on your patience... and wastes it completely.

This was a solid horror. Deserves much better than the current 5.6 rating. There was not a dull moment. No filler, just a very good story, lots of scenes with dark creepy atmosphere and some solid, well done jump scares. I also really like that it had a solid ending. Too many horror movies these days have a confused ending that leave the viewer unsatisfied. Acting was quite good, effects really good. Wasn't too long or too short, honestly there isn't really anything bad I can think of. I was thoroughly entertained all the way through. The "creature" was very creepy and well done. A solid 8 out of 10 from me.

The first thing you need to know about this supernatural horror movie is that it has a good ending. So you don't need to be afraid of watching something with a dead end like a lot of horror movies where the bad entity wins. In my book, a good ending in a horror movie earns an extra point in rating. This movie tells a story of Cynthia Winstone, a psychiatrist with a supernatural ability to enter other people's mind. The synopsis described her as a clairvoyant, although after watching her doing it, I think she's more like a witch. Cause she needed to chant in another language to do it. And man, I'm a sucker to movies about witches. So I added another star from my initial rating just for that. But don't worry about me being biased about this movie. Cause this one isn't like those lame indie horror movies. There's no half baked acting in it, no bad directing either. Not to mention, there's no moment of boredom like some horror movies that have too many insignificant dialogues. This movie is combining crime thriller with supernatural horror. It's very unique, in my opinion. Definitely more appealing than standard horror movies.
Okay I will keep this short. I congratulate the director for completing a project. Most people do not. I congratulate the actors/actresses for a job well done (for the most part) - I think the writing and direction was more the problem than the acting itself -
I congratulate whoever did the sound - you did well.
What i didn't like was how everything just felt uninteresting. The dialogue was so soft i could hardly hear it then BANG big jump scare and that annoyed me a lot. The makeup was good - the creature good - I just couldnt 'get into' this movie at all. I'm sorry but it just felt phoned in - in a way I find hard to really explain.
I'm no director or movie star etc - but I'm just a fan of horror and I think the other movie these main actors were in (aftermath 2021) - was way better but even that was not a movie i particularly liked. It was good to see them return to do a movie together but eh I don't like this movie much man - Maybe someone out there will like it - I'm sure some will - For me just bleh - I admit i stopped paying attention halfway through - so was 'here n there' - but by halfway I had mostly 'checked out' -
I'm glad to see others write better more informative reviews. Is it just me or are movies getting a bit more phoned in as time goes on? I dunno i just feel like that. They have killer cinematography but other than that - I dont know - it's not like a lot of movies in the 90's where there was something interesting about it - hard to explain.

It feeds is a one time watch movie. Its a mixture of different movies blend together. The most obvious ones and most borrowed ones are Stranger Things(we even have 80s going on with one character), The Cell, It follows and Insidous.

I look for little things when rating horror movies. Does the acting have emotion? Facial expressions? Is it good? After all we don't really get to see anything new but we can see slightly different plots with good acting. I this point I think we are rating horror movies on acting and effects (although the latter isn't entirely necessary). Anyway with that said I love Ashley Greene. I like her in aftermath, all the twilight movies, and the apparition. She's a very talented and beautiful actress and she really does only get more beautiful with time. Fine wine. Now Ellie O'Brien??? I was absolutely blown away at how good of an actress this woman is. I think she just turned 23 and her acting is really good for her age. Absolute natural. In one of the opening scenes she's arguing with her mom (Ashley Greene) and I think I replayed that scene like 7 times because of how natural and on point her acting was. She's really good at drama. I say that to say this movie is easily a 7 because of these 2 women selling the movie. It's really a 5 but I put 6 because they did a really good job. The movie itself has been done 100 times so don't expect anything new. It didn't break the internet but it did put me to bed on a Sunday.

'When you mess up a mix of Insidious and Grudge'- The movie.
There's literally nothing in the movie, nothing happening.
The first 10-15 mins of the movie were good. It was a complete downhill after that as there was nothing to keep me interested except for some scares here and there, and that too were scarce. The movie doesn't have anything to keep you interested. It has no intent to make you feel anything. It's just flat till the very end. The actors were great 👍 Ashley Greene was the highlight.
The creature design was scary and good.
The scares were good but too less and scattered. They should have filled the movie with scares to cover-up the flaws. Would have been better.
The director just dragged the movie despite there being nothing entertaining in it.
The end scenes were innovative and decent enough after being frustrated the entire movie.
No progression of her daughter's condition was shown like the Insidious movies, else it would have been a good watch I think.
I don't know what the director was thinking while keeping the movie empty.
I mean there's hardly anything in the movie except for the starting few mins and the ending scenes.
No energy in the movie at all!
No doubt it went to streaming the same day of it's cinema release.
The og Insidious and Grudge movies are class apart and you aren't gonna be able to match them if you just have a childish fantasy of making a movie like them one day and ultimately having no vision, no intent and no energy. Seriously the movie felt like a gimmick and flavorless water.
I mean even water has flavor.
I feel bad for the actors especially Ashley Greene. She is a gem, but not the movie.

Don't be misled and misguided by its independent tag, for this film surpasses the majority of mainstream horror coming out these days in both narrative depth and execution.
I was particularly impressed by their commitment to create an immersive atmosphere, skillfully blending three uniquely distinct genre traits: thriller, paranormal, and psychological.
Their intentions were undeniably ambitious, teetering on the edge of risk, yet driven by their belief and conviction in the material and they managed to succeed.
While the absence of substantial financial backing was evident in a number of sequences where additional funding would have undoubtedly enhanced their prospects, the commendable achievements realized within their constrained budget still deserve some high praise!

From my personal view, It Feeds (2025) is not just a typical horror film; it serves as a powerful metaphor for unresolved childhood trauma. The creature in the film symbolizes emotional scars that we try to suppress, yet they continue to haunt us in silence. It feeds on our isolation and fears, becoming stronger the more we ignore it. The film reveals that true healing comes only when we confront our pain head-on. If we continue to avoid these traumas, they can consume us, leading to despair, anxiety, or even suicidal thoughts. Ultimately, the key to survival and healing is self-confrontation and facing the inner darkness we've buried for years.

I went to watch this last night in Hamilton, Ontario. There was a Q & A after the screening. The movie was enjoyable. A neat take on a entity/possession movie. It's loaded with jump scares, some of which are really predictable. The actors all did a great job bringing their characters to life. They definitely used whatever budget they had to make this as polished as they could, and you could tell they went for quality while putting this one together. Its a good looking film. The little bits of humour from one character in particular was really well received by the moviegoers, but they kept the humour to a minimum, so it doesn't take you out of the rest of the movie. Definitely give this one a watch, I'm sure that you'll find it to be an entertaining watch!

Good conceptual movie with big acting, likable characters, believable antagonists, with decent flow, good visual effects, lovely presence of Ashley Greene and just a bit of negativity because of its unimpactful and gentle horror complemented with a feel-good closure ending.
If the budget spent isn't too big, less than 15 million, then they've done marvels in tight story-telling, creepy enough atmosphere and more than good visual effects.
Ashley Green is a very likable, underrated actress and I hope to see her more around in sci-fi, fantasy and especially MCU movies. She deserves it. Imagine her with great powers. In my mind, she brings big charisma with big chunks of hypnotic belief.

After I read the plot synopsis of It Feeds here on IMDb, I wasn't particularly interested. It sounded very stereotypical and overall uninteresting. However, I'm the kind of person who watches almost every new horror release, so I gave it a try anyway. I saw that Chad Archibald was the writer and director, and he has been involved in many other horror productions. Most of them were average at best, with a few exceptions.
In this film, he tells the story of a mother and her daughter who are cursed by an evil entity after the daughter tries to help a previously possessed girl. The mother initially denies her help, but when her daughter's life is in danger, she must do everything she can to save her using her psychic abilities.
The premise was just as stereotypical as the synopsis suggested, but the movie had a few heartfelt moments and some decently enjoyable scenes. The acting is overall fine, though nothing out of the ordinary, and the characters weren't particularly special. That said, I still found myself rooting for the mother-daughter duo, even though their characters were flawed and not always likeable.
Sadly, the film is overloaded with cheap jump scares involving the entity, which repeat every few minutes and quickly become annoying. That's a shame because the entity itself looked pretty cool, and I would've liked to learn more about its backstory. Unfortunately, the movie handles its themes rather shallowly and never really explores anything in depth.
There are some familiar faces for fans of the genre, which might bring a smile to some viewers. The film also includes a character meant for comic relief, but it didn't work for me. The quirky, bubbly tone clashed with the movie's darker atmosphere.
Overall, It Feeds is a bit messy and heavily reliant on familiar genre tropes, but it's still somewhat entertaining. If the premise sounds particularly interesting to you, it might be worth a watch. Otherwise, you're not missing much if you skip this one.

I went to watch IT FEEDS at the Hamilton Premiere. It was so well done. I loved the incorporation of psychological elements regarding the unconscious, repressed memories, and the inner child. I loved the background music which had me on the edge of my seat. I definitely jumped more times than I'd like to admit. Lol... The leads are great. I didn't realise how I knew them until afterwards. From Xmen and Twilight! As well, there is a character that is so funny, Agatha... she brought in a real comedic side to the film which was so cool to experience after really intense scenes. I wonder if this was intentional, to get you to relax, only to jump all over again.
