Plot

After an accidental death during an interrogation, a police team is disbanded and imprisoned. Once released, the former leader reunites the group to persistently pursue the remaining suspect in an unsolved murder case over the next decade.

Cheng Bing (played by Zhang Yi), the captain of the Criminal Investigation Brigade, caused the accidental death of a suspect in the process of handling a criminal case by the Third Brigade and was sentenced to prison. After being released from prison, he still insisted on tracking fugitive suspects as ordinary people. The film is adapted from real events and was originally published in "Please tell the Director, the mission of the Third Brigade has been completed" by Shenlan, the author of "NetEase Human World Studio".

After causing the accidental death of one of the suspects during the interrogation of a violent and brutal home invasion homicide case, all five police officers of the 3rd Criminal Investigation Brigade were sentenced to prison and the brigade disbanded. Upon release, former team leader Cheng Bing, reunited with his old teammates and enter a decade long persistent and relentless pursuit as mere ordinary civilians to hunt down the remaining suspect of the unsolved murder.
