Bem-Vindos a Beirais

Bem-Vindos a Beirais is a series of Portuguese television displayed from May 13, 2013 by RTP1 channel. Despite following the display format of a soap opera, being broadcast from Monday to Friday during an uninterrupted period, production was announced as a television series of long duration. Bem-Vindos a Beirais follows the daily life of Diogo Almada, a Lisbon that suffering twisted life he led in the big city, decides to move to the countryside in the village of Beirais, away from these problems.

Despite having episodes with closed plots and individual names, something approaching gender of a sitcom, Bem-Vindos a Beirais is displayed continuously and has no seasons with fewer episodes and it fits well to the genre of traditional soap opera. The use of the term "series" caused criticisms in the specialized media, which used terms like "mini-novel", "series that we call soap opera" and "disguised novel series" to refer to the production. Initially planned to have eighty episodes, it was announced that would be recorded additional episodes and a second season due to good reception from the public. The first season had its filming completed in early August 2013, and the second began to have its episodes recorded in September the same year.

Absolutely fantastic!

If you want to have a good time and laugh together with your friends and family, this series is for you! It perfectly portrays how life is in a village. It made me feel nostalgic of the summers passed on the village of my beloved grandmother when I was a child. Some episodes made me cry because of that. The actors are formidable, especially José Carlos Pereira, who if was not Portuguese would have already won an Oscar. For those who want to review this beautiful series, it is passing again in our beloved RTP Memória, which passes the old things and shows to the young people what were quality programs.
