My Daughter Left the Nest and Returned an S-Rank Adventurer
Tweekums22 December 2023
As this series starts we are introduced to Belgrave, an adventurer nicknamed the 'Red Ogre' who is forced to retire after the loss of a leg. One day he finds a baby girl abandoned near his village; with no idea who her parents are he raises her as his daughter. As she grows up she determines to become an adventurer too. She goes away, and after five years of training, she is the youngest ever S-ranked adventurer. Now it is time to return home but duty has a habit of getting in the way of plans.

This is a fun enough addition to the somewhat crowded 'adventurers in fantasy world' genre. The fact that the characters haven't reincarnated or been somehow teleported there from our world makes a refreshing change from many recent fantasy series. It also makes a change that one of the protagonists is somewhat older and has lost a leg... not that that stops him getting involved when needed. The series provides a decent amount of action and enjoyably comic moments. Overall I'd say this is worth watching if you are a fan of the genre; perhaps not a must see but I enjoyed it and by the end I was left wanting more.

These comments are based on watching the series in Japanese with English subtitles.

Spoiler free Review.

My daughter left the nest and returned an S-Rank Adventure Spoiler, free, Review.

Now I got to start off this review by saying I actually really love the premise of this anime. It seems to do episodes dedicated to 2 groups of people at once at the start and gradually starts exploring the main cast a bit to where these people become more and more likeable.

I also love how It shows a lot of "older" adventures who can still kick ass even better then the newer Generation. It really does justice to old retired Veterans in this Series. Something I think anime these days does not do well. It's a Unique Aspect I think most people will actually be happy to see.

The other thing I want to point out is there is very little fan service with this show. What is also quite nicer what you might find odd at first glance. That me tell you that cover picture does not do this anime Justice.

Now the only thing I would point out as a con, is the anime's does a bit slowish character back stories reveals along the lines of a dungeons and dragons campaign. So at the start you're kind of wondering who these "supporting" characters are as you get very little info on them. Then the writers seems to give you bit and Pieces of these "supporting" characters what Gradually drags you in. This could be a hit or miss for some, however as I am currently all caught up (episode 13) I do not find this a problem right now.

The other thing too is fight scenes are not long at all. Maybe about 3 Minute long? They are good but nothing along the lines of big actions shows like Naruto or bleach. What could he a lot down for some. I tend like very little battle as a norm however, at times, I wish some were made longer in this series to see the skills of all who are involved a bit more closely as a purely inquisitive look at the characters.

Anyways, that's my review. Thanks for reading this.
