Damon and Stefan torture Elena to try and get her to turn on her humanity was entertaining although a little harsh my boys, the rest of the episode was okay but those scenes were the highlight if the episode

Studying to get into college and turning on Elena's emotions

Rebekah is at the bar when Matt walks in. She is alone - no one to go to. Matt says some people are broke, failing every class, have problems - if there is nothing for her here why doesn't she leave Mystic Falls?

Rebekah shows up at the Salvatores' home where Matt is studying. Matt is using a translator for Italian. Rebekah offers to help him study as she has had many, many years to learn various topics. Caroline is shocked to hear he is behind - she runs out offering to go grab her memory cards and other things to study.

In the basement Elena is trapped. The Salvatores are at their wits' end and have asked for Katherine to torture her - to get her to show some kind of emotion. Elena only comes to when Matt is "killed" by Damon. She later shows joy seeing that he is wearing the ring.

Rebekah apologizes to Matt for driving them off the bridge and that she will pay him back up until grad by helping him study.
