The Force of Mind
claudio_carvalho5 December 2023
The owner of a spiritual retreat, Alan Quinn, gives a motivational speech about the Force of Mind to attendees of his seminar. Elisabetta, who is participating the seminar, calls Hodges and goes to a mudpot where a man is waiting for her. Out of the blue, the body of a man floats up between them. Greg and Russell find that Elisabetta and her partner are sharing a room in the retreat. Greg and Morgan drain the mud pool and find several objects inside. One of them helps to identify the victim, Justin Wade, who worked in the pharmaceutic Bixton, and his two partners from the same company, Heather Conner and Jessica Lowell. Sara interviews the widow Mary, who tells that Justin did not want to go to the retreat but she convinced him to go, while and Finn and Nick interview Heather and Jessica respectively. When Dr. Robbins finds that Justin suffered anaphylactic shock caused by an allergic reaction, Hodges concludes that it was latex. Greg checks the coal of the firewalk and find latex from Bixton. Now, Heather and Jessica become the prime suspect of the murder. Meanwhile, Hodges questions his marriage with Elisabetta and has cold feet.

"Fearless" is a reasonable episode of "CSI", with two segments. The first, about a man found drowned in a mud pool, is interesting in the beginning but turns into a complicated story of lab meth and incurable disease. Hodges and Elisabetta segment become a boring soap opera with their personal and silly problems. My vote is seven.

I Thought It Was Just a Seminar

A man is found dead, submerged in a mud bath at a Vegas hotel where a high powered charismatic salesman is getting people following his protocols to raise themselves up. He also has them walk on a charcoal fire. It's all about "flying" with confidence in yourself. When this guy 's death is investigated, all kinds of stuff is revealed. There is cover up after cover up. The story is intriguing but the plot elements are so far reaching. There is a secondary plot element. Hodges' Italian fiancee was in the mud bath with another guy when the body was found.
