Not a likable or relatable character in the bunch

Who wrote this drivel? Better question: who cast this drivel? The is not a likable character in the bunch. Each of them was snide, cruel, self-centered and selfish. Overacting seems to be the only qualification for inclusion in this cast.

You'd think that in 2023 with all the movies being made that LMN could come up with something better than this. Please give us at least one character that we care about. Maybe we were supposed to care about Eliza, but she was sooooo dumb, she just kept digging the hole deeper and deeper. And she made the dumbest decisions, decisions that would have sunk anyone's career- and she made them with her eyes wide open.

We gave this movie the full time to show us some reason to care, but it failed on all fronts.

Into the Vipers' Nest

Eliza De La Cruz has just been promoted to her dream job as Director of Admissions at the prestigious Wilder University. But it does not take long before she is besieged with cutthroats and back-stabbers seeking her demise. Her life is also complicated with an affair she is having with a married Senator. She then meets his psychopathic family. Ms. De La Cruz, welcome to the vipers' nest!

There were some jaw-dropping moments when Eliza was introduced to the reprobate Nathan, the son of the Senator James Holbroke with whom Eliza is entangled. The son was awarded a spot in a competitive Wilder academic program. But he plagiarized his essay and now threatens Eliza with a knife in the family home. And the father seems to take his side against Eliza!

By the midpoint of the film, it made no sense that Eliza would continue to consort with James or any member of his troubled clan. The film then imploded with a most improbable and incomprehensible ending in which nothing is satisfactorily resolved.

In the end, the characters were so unpleasant and their motivations so despicable that one wonders what was the style the filmmakers intended. Dark comedy? Satire? Horror? It was really a curious admixture of all three.
