Glimpse into the life and thoughts of a kosovar war journalist
I found the picture quality in this film to be very high. The scenes of the interior of houses are clean and authentic, and the scenes of natural landscapes are beautifully shot. I have very little knowledge of Kosovo and the war, so I found the film quite informative. For example, I did not know about Turkey's involvement in the Kosovo war.
I am a little confused about the correct way to spell or pronounce Burbuqe's name because it seemed to keep changing throughout the film. (not just in audio but also in the subtitles). I might be mistaken on this though, because I only watched it once and I am not familiar with the language.
The film felt like it was a collection of many separate stories about Burbuqe. I think it was trying to pack too much information into 38 minutes. I think the film would have benefitted from having a single, main narrator speaking from the beginning to the end, rather than being a collection of many excerpts from many interviews with many people. Otherwise everything feels rather disjointed. I found it hard to connect all the dots. As an analogy, if I were to visit a new country for 6 days, it would be more coherent to have a single tour guide for all 6 days, rather than to change tour guides every day.
If having a single "main narrator" is not possible, perhaps have a single "main character" with a strong connection with Burbuqe introduce himself (or herself) at the start of the film and establish a relation with the viewer. Tell the viewer enough about this character to make the viewer start to care about this character, or build some kind of mystery. Then proceed to talk about Burbuqe. Slowly build a relation between the viewer and the main character, before building the relation between the viewer and Burbuqe.
I am assuming of course that the objective of this film is to introduce Burbuqe to a general viewer (someone who doesn't know her or any of her family). If this film was intended as something for people who already know Burbuqe to watch it, then it is fine.
