Awesome episode with some great flashbacks, fun character interactions, I even liked Rebecca and Elena bond for a moment while tricking damon ,

Damon and Elena arrive in New York City where he brings her to an underground place he hung out at in the 70s. Rebekah shows up and Elena is concerned about the news she brings of Damon pretending to go on a joyride with Elena to look for the cure. Damon gives some history of his time with Lexi when she showed up with big hoop earrings. Stefan sent her to get his humanity back. Eventually Damon flirts with her and they kiss then proceed to sex. On the bar, on the roof. Elena wants to hear more and goes up to the roof. Caroline, Stefan and Klaus figure out that the Expression power needs three massacres at the ends of an equilateral triangle. Klaus says he can see Caroline is not so good in geometry as he draws a second triangle that could be a possibility. Klaus tells Caroline that it has to be hot in some degree that a guy who is so ruthless with everyone else actually does care for one person. Klaus has a glint of pleasure and hope when Caroline gives him a small compliment. Damon then tells her after Lexi wakes up in the morning with Damon beside her she realizes she doesn't have her ring. She is in pain from the light and cowers in the shadows. He was only feigning his interest and humanity. That's why when Lexi came to Mystic Falls for Stefan's birthday he killed her because she was a walking and talking reminder of all the bad deeds he has done. Out of sight, out of mind. Caroline kills the one witch in the middle but this kills all 12 witches as they are linked. Later Klaus says he knows she is not good in arithmetic but this is so basic - 1 compared to 12 lives? She reasons with it was her best friend. He replies she looks like she needs comfort - she should find someone. Elena seduces Damon and slips her hand into his back pocket to get out the paper. Damon catches on but Rebekah snaps his neck. When Damon wakes up he calls Elena and she is getting into his car with Rebekah. They look beautiful - blonde and brunette driving in a convertible.
