One of the lesser entries in Nina's useful and never-ending sex education video series, this examination of back-door sex hardly does the subject justice. I'm sure Ms. Hartley was aware of this, but with production schedules being so tight and a laudable porn career to perpetuate she handed in a junker and moved on.
The redoubtable team of Anna Malle and Hank Armstrong are her demo helpers (both better off watched in innumerable fiction films instead), alongside John Decker with his Prince Valiant hairdo and a rather pompous attitude. Standard opening stint of Nina and her flip charts giving the viewer a quickie course on anatomy of the innards of the groin was enlightening, but as the video quickly turned to porn it became a non- starter.
Nina dons her trusty gloves to finger Anna and later there's intercourse and anal sex for the fans who've seen it all countless times before. The purported educational value is thrown to the winds and what is shown instead is deadly dull in & out action plus a vibrator thrown into the mix to help Anna get off.
Hartley seems to be having a good time, but that is problematical given that she's such a good actress. She returned to the subject matter a decade later and hopefully that video will be more interesting to watch.
This feature was reissued in a 51-minute bowdlerized version in 2002 under the umbrella title "Nina Hartley's Guide to Alternative Sex", in tandem on DVD with a shortened version of "Nina Hartley's Guide to Swinging".
