The Eighth Sense is probably the best bl series I've seen so far. How Jihyun and Jaewon won me over, how the directors were able to get us into story doesn't happen much these days. The story, the dialogues, the lights, the music, the cinematography, everything was perfectly portrayed. The series has both happy and cute moments and of course bad and sad moments, but that's what I love about the series. I hope we will see a sequel, because both the main actors Ji-sub and Juntaek, the directors, but the whole team of people around the series deserve it! We need more Jaewon and Jihyun as couple!!

Words can't explain how beautiful this drama was. The storyline, the characters, the settings- everything. Everything about this drama will forever be comfort for me. The kind of romance that makes you yearn but also admire has been presented; both characters forever have my heart. I would watch this again a hundred times and it'll still make me feel touched. Particularly Jaewon's words in ep.9 I will never forget. Him saying everything will be okay whilst having struggles of his own :( thanks to this drama for keeping reality but still showing us something beautiful. Season 2... although s1 felt complete, I just want an excuse to see my favourite boys on screen again<3.

The indie vibe, amazing performances, all right messages and a beautiful love story. The casting director should get a raise for finding this ideal match - Im Ji Sub and Oh Jun Taek. The series addresses all the issues - dealing with trauma, understanding who you are and what it is really important in your life. And those visuals, you are kidding me.. Those faces. All this at the back of beautiful sea shore, surfing. Amazing moment of cinema and a really breakthrough in Korean BL drama. Special thanks for the OST - truly wonderful. Wetter, Unalaska, Conan Gray, Floris ans others - a pure delight to listen to. Also - 30-40 min per episode is finally what we were expecting for, a big change from 15 min BL. Thank you for creating a very satisfying watch.

One of the best corean BLs made till the moment. With an amazing work and love behind. Not scare to talk about controversial topics. Uses lights an escenography in one of the best ways I never seen, when only eyes and lights are used and you feel everything wothout words you know is a masterpice.
Also sau, that It is addictive since episode one, only to be getting better and better. Not for semsitive people. This is definetly not a comedy but more a painful true and amazong drama.

Such incredible story that speaks to many young adults going through so many things at their college years and still trying to overcome their problems on their own. The characters are really perfect to portrait how going to therapy, taking proper madication and having people who loves you having your back are the way to fight depression.
It's a really important project since south korea are so closed when it comes to discussions about mental health and lgbtq+ representation but the producers managed to open this discussion in this project in such delicate way that I had many tears even when I listened to the songs being played during the episodes.

I don't remember the last time I wrote a review on imdb, if ever, but I loved this series so much that I wanted to leave some praise for it. When I first saw the trailer, I thought the cinematography looked beautiful and I liked that there was surfing involved, but I also expected a certain degree of... reservedness (is that a word? Maybe just "reservation"?) that seems common in kdramas. Which I realize is a cultural difference, so I'm not criticizing, but I loved The Eighth Sense for how visceral it is. There are tight closeups to let us see every flicker of a characters eyes, there's handheld camera work so we feel like we're walking the streets of Seoul beside them, there are awkward silences, there's sexual tension so thick it makes the audience a little nervous and fluttery. The characters feel fully-inhabited, and the music!! So many really fantastic uses of music, most of which I hadn't heard before.
Overall, I think this is an incredible series, and highly recommend it to anyone with an interest in romance and/or coming of age stories.

You know those places where u go when u wanna hide or be at peace this drama is exactly like that it made me find shelter and calmed my soul i have never been soo relatable with any dramas and the way it addressed all the issues .. One of the best dramas I've watched to date. The plot, cinematography, direction, acting(of ALL cast memebers) were all amazing. The series was pure art start to finish. Especially loved the way they used colours to express emotions and how the relationship of the characters progressed, the colour palette along with the camer work was stunning. I am so glad that it did not follow K-BLs in having very short episodes, I don't think we would've been able to connect with the characters as much as we did if we weren't taken along for the journey as the relationship naturally developed. I also appreciate how this series wasn't marketed as a "BL" series but as a romance/melodrama. The way it talks about mental health and trauma was so realistic and hit close to home, I think this was one of the first queer media I've seen where the main character attended therapy. I'm going to be carrying this series in my heart for a long time to come(even forever if I'm being honest).
Shout out to Juntaek, i was very surprised to learn that he was street casted and this was his first acting job- you really can't tell with how amazing of a job he did. I don't even have to mention Jisub and his phenomenal acting, the boy's eyes can speak more than his words, and what a hypnotising eyes they were!

It's not a perfect series, but they really tried. What I didn't like it was the sequence sometimes felt really off, but the rest was by far way better that most BL series out there. Both main characters were well portrayed. The chemistry was there, the longing, the desire, the doubt, the urge to be together, the sadness, and so on, you can clearly feel that because both actors really did their job and gave what they have.
Lim Ji-Sub surprised me the most; what a beautiful gem they got while casting him. The "micro" expressions you can see thanks to the careful angles they director decided to film him, that's from another world. The way that man can change his sad and empty expression by just a tiny hint of a smile, it's definitely not something lot of actors out there can pull off. I hope we can see him in more projects in the future.
Oh Jun Taek. Another great discover. If I'm not mistaken, his first role and he was castead out the streets. Regardless, he delivered and showed that you don't really need that much experience to give such a warm, beautiful and natural performance, which it's not that common in the BL industry, where most actors seems to be waiting constantly to say their lines in the most lame way and go home.
Should all BL's stories be like "The Eighth Sense"? Definitely, no.
But I hope, in terms of production, quality and performance, other productions could improve and deliver better series since the BL industry is growing more and more.
After finishing the series, you can clearly see that the production didn't "just wanted to ride the BL train trend"; they actually wanted to tell a story. Took care of details, and make the most out of their cast and resources.

This is my all-time favorite BL in many ways (pretty much all). I think the thing that got the most out of the story is that it was all so natural and realistic that I, as a young gay man, could see myself there in both of them. From the looks, to the little touches, the first kiss coming out of nowhere, pretending it never happened lol, the courage to assume you're looking for a man and all the fear of coming out but at the same time not fearing anymore because love is more important, it's all very relatable in the story. As for the characters, they were very well built, Jihyun and Jaewon are so charismatic and adorable that already in the first episode I was in love with them and wishing them the best, I want to congratulate Jinsub and Juntaek for being able to bring these characters to life in the best way and make this love story even better. I must also congratulate everyone else involved as, as for BLs, probably the choice of soundtrack, cinematography, direction, dialogues, are all my favorites!! I have several scenes that I could spend the day talking about, but my favorite: Jihyun and Jaewon hugging in EP5, the scene was so sensitive, with the acting and directing, along with the perfect choice of instrumental that I couldn't hold back the tears. 10/10 DRAMA!!!

This drama from the very opening scene to the last episode is so incredibly well crafted. It honestly left me speechless the first few episodes. Everything from the acting, the script writing, to the cinematography is sublime. The portrayal of such raw emotions and the ability to bring light to very relevant but touchy topics like trauma and the response to said trauma is also very well done! It is the type of dramas that will have you re-discover messages and something new every time you re-watch it. This drama, needless to say is a gem and worth the watch. Kudos to the directors, actors and everyone involved in the creation of the drama for birthing such a beautiful work of cinema.

There's something about this show that's really artistic and emotional. I'm a big fan of using silence (no bgm) and this show does it well. The choice of camera angles and music was also good.
The talk on mental health & giving people space + trying to understand them instead of dismissing them was really well done. I think people with depression will really relate, as well as find the other characters mature and good friends.
The chemistry between the actors was brilliant from the first episode. There was tension and curiousity from the get-go that naturally bloomed into love and desire. Some amazing kiss scenes too.
If you could judge a show by how well the female characters are written, this show gets an A+. Absolutely loved them.

I just wanted to say that this is now one of my favorite series of all time. It's amazing. After watching the first 2 episodes I was hooked. I knew that this drama is going to be something different, one of the best. It's all I love with a movie/series. The cinematography is beautiful. The eighth sense makes you feel the way the characters are feeling. When they're hurt, you can really feel the pain. And when they smile, you get butterflies in your stomach. And the characters are portrayed in a really beautiful way. The character development is just perfect.
I can relate to both of the main characters, Jaewon and Jihyun. And that's a really important part in series. To be able to relate to a character. I love how they show mental health issues in a realistic way.
And I love how realistic the eighth sense feels. I love more quiet movies and series. Every scene doesn't need background music. The actors makes us feel the way they do through their eyes, words and just amazing acting. I have literally rewatched almost every episode every single week since the first episode got released. Because it was impossible to wait 7 long days for new episodes. (Felt like a month) I just needed more more and more.

Every bl industry out there gonna have to try real hard to topple the crown of the eighth sense for best bl of the fkn century cos they're taking it. I wanted ended short and sweet but imdb isn't letting me so let's get it. I thoroughly and went I say thoroughly I truly and completely enjoyed this show. It's just for my liking. It's made for my liking. The actors are acting just the way i like it to be. Oh jun taek my guy is doing so much for his first acting gig like he truly amazing do not even get me started on lim ji sub he ate up his role like jae won is my fav character. Ok limit reached. Lastly thanks to the amazing writers and directors for giving us this show, it was truly worth it and made me the happiest on Wednesday I'm gonna miss it so so much. That season 2 better be in the works cos I miss my boys and I need it see more of them.

I'm enamored by how good this show was.. The European input was so evident in this Korean drama and made it even more special to behold. The actors were ACTING. The chemistry was there without being overtly provocative. Therapy was finally shown throughout an entire season of a BL. Real therapy to deal with real trauma. Everything about this coming of age show felt right and needed. I hope this show opens the door for more quality BL's to come out all over the world and I hope we continue to tell real stories that can connect to audiences worldwide in the same way this did to me. Highly recommend this to anyone.

This show changed my life. It was genuinely such an enjoyable show and I was so upset when it ended. It was not lacking in any department, literally. The cinematography, the plot, the acting, the soundtrack, etc! Such a masterpiece I have to recommend it to everyone! Also great if you're a first time BL viewer! The trailer did not lead us on and it was just as good as promised.

Everything about this series is pure perfection. That kind will remain in our minds forever. The plot, cinematography, acting, soundtrack... simply superb!! What an incredible journey it was to follow this story! Each week I felt more involved with the characters' feelings and I was shocked at how easy it was to understand each one: their fears, their traumas, their demons... and at the end I felt my heart full of happiness and joy. Congratulations to the creators / directors, cast and crew and a special shout-out to Lim Jisub and Oh Juntaek. Waiting for another season, I'd love to follow this new journey of Jaewon and Jihyun.

I can't even begin to explain the love i have for this drama, i've rewatched every episode a bunch of times already because i just can't get enough. The main characters were so well-defined and interesting and i loved how they weren't only limited to being queer, i especially loved Jaewon's character since i could relate to his struggles and Lim Jisub portrayed his character perfectly. I also love how Jihyun isn't the typical soft innocent guy who can't stand up for himself, being an introvert doesn't mean you can't speak up. Overall it's a great time with angst and love and healing and would definitely recommend it to everyone. Fingers crossed for season 2🤞🏻

Everything about the series is incredibly well written and scripted. Every dialogue and moment of silence/tension is soooo well interpreted by the actors.
The beach, the surf club, art study, late night talk at the beach omg I loved everything about it !!! It was also so pleasing to see the characters develop feelings for each other through the episodes, since EP1 Jaewon was just so attracted to Jihyun , and we just felt this closeness they had from the beginning. It was so good to be part of this intimacy between the two.
ALSO!! Something id never seen in bls is how they chose to portray intimate scenes. The scenes were blurry, the camera movement made the scenes difficult to clearly see but i just think there is something so beautiful about it. It makes us focus on the mood of the scene , the emotions felt between the characters. We did not care to exactly see how their lips touched etc.. it was just the overall feeling during these intimate scenes that was immaculate.

This is the first time a series has moved me enough to write a review. First kudos to oh jun taek who plays ji hyun what a warm and believable performance from an actor they literally found on the streets. Also the way he and ji sub made you feel so many emotions with just their eyes. The talent they possess. I like how their interactions felt natural and you felt as if you were third wheeling. I know this genre (bl) is still taboo for many but i like how they didn't center "it" and focused more on life and how its not always glitter and glam like people who you think have it all carry deep pain also. Don't wanna spoil to much but please watch and support the actors Oh JunTaek and Lim JiSub.

This was just perfect. I am by no means a professional reviewer but I couldn't let this moment pass to share my love for this BL!
The chemistry between the male leads Lim Jisub & Oh Jun Taek was amazing! I could feel every emotion they displayed for us. The way Lim Ji Sub portrayed Jaewon was outstanding. I also loved the grow Jihyun (oh Jun Taek) went through. He was a shy mouse but became a bold man who knows what he wants love wise.
The way they tackled Jaewon's trauma which gave him a depression was amazing. The color scheme they used with him suited so perfectly. His world was in dark tones while Jihyun was in light tones! It had the perfect contrast and it set the mood amazingly.
I love how they had their "Love at first sight" moment. It was perfectly done. I think this is definitely the best Korean BL I have seen so far. I literally applaud you for making this and for having the perfect cast as well!

The way they tackled Jaewon's trauma which gave him a depression was amazing. The color scheme they used with him suited so perfectly. His world was in dark tones while Jihyun was in light tones! It had the perfect contrast and it set the mood amazingly.
I love how they had their "Love at first sight" moment. It was perfectly done. I think this is definitely the best Korean BL I have seen so far. I literally applaud you for making this and for having the perfect cast as well!
