Great drama, poor focus

As a fan of Grey's Anatomy, I wanted to love the latest episode, "Pick Yourself Up." It promised to focus on Addison's heroism and be a thrilling ride, but unfortunately, the episode lacked focus and direction, leaving me disappointed.
The episode seemed to meander through various plotlines, leaving no real sense of direction or purpose. The hospital was attacked, and yet we spent time focusing on old ladies having STDs and Maggie's relationship problems. The writers need to have the confidence to focus on an issue, and run with it. Because abortion is certainly something worth exploring from many angles.
Despite featuring a typically strong performance from Kate Walsh as Addison, the episode felt.
