- A man gets into the shower with his wife (they can only be seen from the shoulders up) and they kiss; sex is implied.
- A teacher reads his female student's poetry, in which she describes herself as a phone sex worker. One poem graphically describes sexual abuse by a father figure; another begins to describe an encounter with a client before abruptly cutting off (twice). He discusses the student with one of his colleagues, who says the student implied the poetry was based on true events (this is left ambiguous).
- In several scenes a teacher reads his female student's novel in progress, which is about a female student having an affair with an older teacher. Each time he reads a passage we are shown an imagined scene where he envisions himself as the teacher and she as the student. He caresses her from behind and they passionately kiss; he presses her against a wall and we see his partially-covered butt as he thrusts into her (her face contorts in pain and it is implied it is her first time).

- A young woman accuses her (married) teacher of pressuring her into sex in exchange for helping get her novel published; the teacher argues that he thought it was consensual and completely unrelated to her work.
- Trying to comfort a distressed woman, an older (married) man approaches from behind and puts his hand on her shoulder. After a moment she takes the hand and guides it to her clothed breast; he wraps his arms around her waist as she turns to him and they kiss. She pushes him onto a bed, undresses (he kisses one of her breasts) and pulls down his pants (his erection is pressing against his underwear) before straddling him; they kiss and moan for a moment until something forces them to stop. She then gets up and we see her breasts and full rear nudity as she walks around the room, as well as the man's butt when he stands to pull his pants up. Later, the woman publicly alleges the man initiated the encounter without her consent, which he angrily denies.
