'Vasu' is a person involved in party related activities in a border village of Idukki district. Vasu's family consists of his wife 'Sharada' and daughter 'Rani'. Vasu moves to Idukki as part of his daughter's studies and enrolls his daughter in a new school. Like Vasu, Rani is a stickler for her ideas. When she arrives at her new school, she unintentionally finds that some of her classmates are doing something against the law. She, who is a member of SPC (Student Police Cadet), raises the matter and informs the concerned people first. The quest leads to a cannabis grower named 'Lazarus'. Miscalculating Lazarus, the police arrive at his base and completely destroy the cannabis plantation. The film 'Rani' tells about the events that follow. Directed by debutant Nizamuddin Nasser, the film has moments that will shock the audience when they think it revolves around Lazarus and Rani. The second half is prepared with a twist that upsets the first half.
Biju Sopanam and Shivani, who appeared as a father and daughter in the popular program 'Uppum Mulukum', have played the central characters of 'Rani', Vasu and Rani. Kavita becomes Sarada Baiju is.
