  • Peacemaker has lots of sexual dialogue.

Violence & Gore

  • MK1, like it's numerous predecessors, features a heavy amount of gore and blood. The most prominent occurring event in these games is the event known as a "Fatality" which never fails to deliver violent kills of the opponent, almost always featuring a heavy amount of blood as well as the spilling of organs and a lot of extremely bloody dismemberment.
  • All Fatalities include:
  • Heavenly Light: Ashrah rises into the air and summons a pair of angelic bladed wings from behind her, before sending a swarm of blades to brutally impale her opponent to the ground. She then proceeds to the strike the ground with her Kriss, sending a wave of energy that scorches her opponent, leaving only the charred, gory remains of their upper body as their eyes roll backwards.
  • Threads of Ill Fate: Ashrah takes her Kriss and uses its energy as a rope (a la Ivy Valentine from "SoulCalibur") to strike the opponent's arm, head, and the torso twice. She then pulls back on the Kriss, which causes the opponent to split into several gory pieces.
  • Split Decision: Baraka stabs the opponent through their stomach with both of his Tarkatan blades. He then lifts them up similar to his "Blade Lift" Fatality, before aiming his blades towards the eyes, skewering them, and finishes by pulling back his blades, slicing off much of the opponent's upper body. The body then splits apart as it collapses to the ground.
  • Four Piece Kombo: Baraka drives his hand into the opponent's gut, pulling out their intestines, and launches them upwards with a knee strike. Baraka then uses a Blade Spark to create a fire on the ground and grabs the intestine as he cackles maniacally, leaving the opponent hanging in the air and roasting over the fire as he and three other Tarkatans gruesomely rip off the opponent's limbs and start eating them.
  • Sand Storm: Geras summons a sand tornado around him and the opponent and closes it in, forcing the opponent to Geras. He then grabs the opponent and messily grinds the opponent's left side of their body against the sand tornado, with blood and gore spraying everywhere. Geras then slams the opponent overhead into the ground with one hand, splattering their entire upper body into a bloody mess and leaving only their upside-down legs twitching behind.
  • Temporal Execution: Geras conjures a portal behind himself and rips off the head and spine of another version of the opponent, smashing the opponent's jaw with it and breaking it off. He then hands the head to the opponent who look at it in disbelief, as the head's jaw has already been broken off. Another portal then opens behind them, and past Geras rips their head and spine out before closing the portal, continuing the cycle as the opponent's corpse falls down.
  • Atomic Heart: Havik rips open his own chest and then takes his heart out. He then does the same thing to his opponent's heart and inserts his into their chest cavity. As Havik's heart corrupts and starts rotting the opponent's nearby flesh, he crushes their heart, exploding his own heart and their arm into a bloody mess, leaving a huge gaping hole in their body.
  • RAD-ius Incision: Havik kicks the opponent's crotch, breaking his own knee and exposing the bone before impaling it in their chin. He then punches the opponent's neck, breaking his own hand and exposing the bone before using it to impale their neck and slicing it down, spilling out their intestines. Havik then pushes their body, causing them to lay down on their back as he heals his wounds.
  • Hollywood Walk of Pain: Johnny Cage walks up to his opponent, grabbing them by the shoulder before pulling his phone out to a live stream in front of his viewers, saying "Talk about talent! Meet Hollywood's newest star!". He then walks up to a plaque with the opponent's name printed on it before slamming them face-first onto the plaque. Afterwards, Cage pulls them out, brutally ripping their entire face off, takes out his phone and snaps a photo with their faceless body.
  • Krash and Burn: Johnny Cage shadow kicks the opponent through his car's windshield before remotely opening the car's door, causing the mutilated opponent to fall out. He then slams the car door down onto the opponent's waist, splitting them in half and trapping them by the intestines. Cage then remotely starts the car to drive off by itself, taking the trapped opponent with it before exploding, with a wheel flying past Johnny and the opponent's head landing next to him.
  • Blended: Kenshi telekinetically breaks the opponent's neck, making them face upwards. He then unsheathes Sento, sends it to the opponent, and drills it into the opponent's mouth while simultaneously telekinetically holding them in place. He then flips the opponent upside down into the air and summons a spirit to wield Sento and slice the opponent clean in half while in the air, causing the opponent's halves to fall to the ground.
  • Gyro-Nope: Kenshi telekinetically controls Sento and throws it directly to the opponent's abdomen, piercing them. He then telekinetically slashes the opponent's abdomen, limb, and neck with Sento before raising it vertically above the opponent's head and driving it through, impaling the opponent into the ground and removing their limbs. He finishes by retrieving Sento, causing the victim's head, and upper and lower body to fall to the ground into a bloody mess.
  • Royal Blender: Kitana uses her fans to create winds that lift the opponent up in the air. Then the blades position themselves above the opponent's head and below the opponent's feet respectively while they're still lifted in the air. The blades then start spinning and going towards each other, with the lower blade dicing the opponent's lower body, while the upper blade dices the upper body, shredding the entire opponent into mush.
  • Minty Fresh: Kitana removes her mask and kisses her opponent on the cheek while obscuring the scene with one of her fans. She then pushes the opponent back, and the kiss causes their flesh to gruesomely melt off before they collapse to all fours and vomit profusely. The opponent then futilely tries reaching their hand towards Kitana, who looks on as their jaw falls off, then she backs off as soon as the opponent's body collapses into an unrecognizable skeletal mess.
  • Hat Sever Kung: Kung Lao throws his hat in the air before grabbing the arms of the opponent and jumping to the opposite direction, breaking their elbows. His hat then comes down to brutally slice the opponent's body in half vertically, spilling large quantities of blood and intestines in the process. Kung Lao then rips the bifurcated body apart and spreads both halves together before dropping them on the ground.
  • Lao'd And Clear: Kung Lao tosses his hat towards the opponent's shoulder before it comes back through the other shoulder, slicing both and leaving both shoulders dangling, nearly amputating their arms. Kung Lao then catches his hat and throws it to the opponent's knees, slicing the legs off. The hat then comes back to decapitate the opponent and Kung Lao catches his hat again to slice them clean in half, causing the opponent's body to collapse into a bloody heap.
  • Roman Candle: Li Mei punches a gory hole inside of the opponent's stomach and rips their intestine. She then grabs the intestine and lights it with her fireworks like a fuse, causing her opponent to panic. As the spark travels up the intestine and eventually reaches their esophagus, Li Mei swiftly runs up to the opponent and flip kicks their head off with the intestine still attached. Eventually, the spark reaches their head, causing it to explode.
  • Happy New Year: Li Mei charges her fingertips with firework and rams them up the opponents shoulders. As the firework charges up, the opponent's arms messily explode. She then proceeds to do the same to the opponent's torso, causing it to explode as well. The opponents head flies off, while Li Mei's spiritual Lion catches it in its mouth, bringing it to her as the opponent's lower body collapses.
  • Double Dragon: Liu Kang punches the opponent, causing them to kneel to the ground. He then summons two fire dragons that grab the opponent by the arms and lift them upwards. Liu Kang then launches himself above both the opponent and the dragons and grabs the former's head before pushing it through their body, splitting them in half. Liu Kang then crushes the head under his hand as he lands, followed by the two halves of the opponent's body falling to the ground.
  • Spaghettification: Liu Kang summons a portal behind the opponent and chokes the opponent, forcing them both into it, which leads to outer space. Liu Kang then summons a black hole with a snap of his fingers before shoving the opponent into its event horizon, causing it to violently suck in their lower body, then their organs, clothes, skin, and finally their muscle, leaving only their skeleton. Liu Kang then drops the skeleton into the black hole, leaving him floating in front of it.
  • Appetizer: Mileena uses one of her sais to stab the side of the opponent's head and forces them to turn around, then she stabs their shoulders with her sais, forcing them to kneel. She then viciously bites at the opponent's head, eating their brain and eyes, and leaving a giant hole. As she growls ferociously, Mileena takes another bite at the opponent's head up until their lower jaw, leaving their almost headless corpse as she roars triumphantly and licks her fingers in delight.
  • A Little To The Left: Mileena slashes the opponent's stomach, hunching them over, then impales the opponent's sides of the head with her sais and twists their head to the side, breaking their neck. She then twists the opponent's head upside down, and leaps onto the body before brutally ripping their head off with the sais. In the aftermath, Mileena tosses the head back to the body along with her sais.
  • Vaeternus KomBAT: Nitara flies up to the opponent and hold them up in the air, and a swarm of bats enter the opponent's mouth. They then invade the opponent's stomach, eating their internal organs. Nitara then forcefully grabs the opponent's face and torso and rips them clean off, allowing the bats to fly away and exposing their brain and empty torso.
  • Brake Check: Nitara violently rushes towards her opponent before gruesomely ripping their intestines and flying into the air with the opponent dangling from them. She stops, and with a powerful kick, launches the screaming opponent downwards, which causes their whole skeleton to come out of their body before it brutally smashes on the ground.
  • The Storm's Arrival: Raiden sends his enemy up in the air with a lightning-enhanced uppercut. He then proceeds to rip a pillow-sized hole into their gut before drawing lightning into their body like a metal conductor. Raiden then finishes by soaring through the hole before messily splitting the opponent in two and mashing both body halves together into a bloody mess, with blood and intestines raining to the floor afterward.
  • Ride the Lightning: Raiden summons lightning from the sky into one hand while he blasts the opponent with a continuous stream of lightning, suspending them into the air and eventually electrocuting their skin off, a la his "Electrocution" Fatality. Raiden then uses both of his hands to blast the opponent, and fires another continuous stream of electricity, leaving them a skeleton. He then finishes by diving through the opponent with a Torpedo, shattering the skeleton.
  • The Red Sea: Rain places his staff on the ground, summoning water that surrounds the opponent before he spins it with his staff, removing their arm and skin and turning the water into blood. He then splits the water in two with his hands, slicing the opponent in half as well before the water disappears and they lay on the ground.
  • Under Pressure: Rain wraps the opponent with water, then lifts them in the air before folding their body front-to-back, splitting them in half and causing their intestines to fall out. He then squeezes their neck with his powers, ripping their head off as it falls to the ground next to him and the water spiral disappears, allowing the opponent's upper and lower body to fall to the ground before Rain finishes by crushing their head with a stomp.
  • The Impaler: Reiko spawns his staff and slices his opponent's arms and legs with it. He then impales the staff in their stomach and places it on the ground before inserting his hands on their stomach and pulling their ribcage out of their torso, spilling out all of their organs. The result causes their head (with their mouth impaled on the staff) to be ripped off from their torso and their mutilated entrails to be exposed.
  • For the General: Reiko grabs his opponent's arms and breaks them like twigs, exposing their arm bones which are then jammed and impaled into their jaw. He then twists the opponent's torso around and violently folds it. Afterwards, Reiko grabs the opponent's spine and, with a struggle, brutally pulls it out with the skull attached, ripping the opponent's body in half and causing their face to go drooping and sagging unnaturally as a result of collapsing in on itself.
  • Indigestion: Reptile transforms into his reptilian form, then runs towards the opponent before turning invisible. He then chomps down on their head from behind before turning visible, then lifts them up and swallows them whole. He then regurgitates the opponent, whose lower body half is missing and is covered in acid. As the victim melts, they try to crawl away, but one of their arms explode, and Reptile approaches them before crushing their head with the palm of his hand.
  • Acid Reflux: Reptile transforms into his reptilian form and uses his tongue to poison the opponent, melting their hands and their head afterwards. He then catches the head and crushes it with his mouth.
  • Eye-Palling Victory: Scorpion jumps and hits the ground, with the impact sending the opponent in the air before he impales his spear into their stomach, which then goes into their eyeballs, plucking them off. He then pulls the spear, tearing off the opponent's head before saying "Come Here" and using it to rip the opponent's body in half into a bloody, gory mess before catching the head on his hand, causing their intestines to fly out and eventually spill into the floor.
  • Gang War: Scorpion disappears as three Shirai Ryu members appear. The first member impales his sword onto the opponent's chest, the seconds one drives an axe into their head, and the third one incinerates them with his skeletal face (a la the "Toasty" Fatality). Scorpion then impales his spear into the opponent's stomach, says his catchphrase "Get Over Here", and pulls them near him before kicking their body, causing their skeleton to pop out from the body while they kneel.
  • Spin Cycle: General Shao launches the opponent in the air with his battle axe, then jumps and grabs the opponent by the arm before rapidly spinning them around several times (a la T. Hawk's Mexican Typhoon from "Street Fighter"), with the centrifugal force being powerful enough to brutally tear off the screaming opponent's skin, muscles and organs, leaving only their skeleton. Shao then violently smashes the skeleton into the ground, shattering it to pieces.
  • Axe-ident: General Shao slams his battle axe into the ground and creates a shockwave that launches the opponent upwards. He then leaps into the air, grabs the opponent by the legs and slams their back against the axe blade, impaling them on it. Shao then finishes by brutally dragging the opponent all the way down the axe blade, splitting them in two. This Fatality is similar to Kung Lao's "Razor's Edge" Fatality.
  • Side Effects: Shang Tsung impales the opponent's neck with his claws, opens a vial of lava, and pours all of its contents down their open mouth. He then pulls his claws back from the opponent's neck, ripping it open as they start to suffocate and then burn from the inside. Afterwards, Shang slashes their stomach open, causing all of the lava from inside their body to spew out and leak all over the floor, creating a giant puddle that burns off most of their skin and lower half.
  • Feeding Time: Shang Tsung throws the opponent onto a table with his claws, then locks the opponent on it by the hands and feet. He then rips open the torso vertically with said claws and, with frightening sadistic glee, then opens a vial of boiling glowing green liquid (presumably flesh-eating acid) before pouring the contents into the open wound. As the opponent writhes in agony, a serpent emerges from their wound (a la "Alien"), rips their head open and devours their brain.
  • Hair Comes Trouble: Sindel uses her hair to snap the opponent's elbows, then rips their arms out their shoulder sockets before jamming her hair into their now vacant sockets. As she lifts them up, Sindel then walks up to the opponent and taunts them, saying "Who's your Queen?" before reaching into their throat and violently ripping out their spine with the skull still attached (a la Sub-Zero). Sindel then discards the corpse as she walks off with her trophy and laughs maniacally.
  • Livin' The Scream: Sindel flies up and begins screaming at the opponent, orbiting around them. The opponent tries desperately to cover their ears, but with no luck, their ears pop off their head. The opponent then kneels before their eyes brutally pop out of their head as well due to the sound pressure. Sindel then lets out one final scream, laying the opponent flat on the ground amid a crater and obliterating their entire flesh, turning them into a skeleton as she laughs.
  • Hazed and Infused: Smoke teleports behind the opponent and slices off both their arms with his Karambit, causing them to kneel. He then teleports in front of the opponent and stabs his Karambit under their chin, lifting their head up and holding their mouth open. Smoke then pulls out a smoke grenade, pulls the pin and shoves it into the opponent's mouth before pulling the Karambit out and walking away. The grenade explodes, blowing off their jaw and throat.
  • Up in Smoke: Smoke disappears in smoke and laughs, covering the area around the opponent with smoke and leaving them confused. Smoke then dashes through the opponent, cutting off their right hand. He then dashes again, cutting the opponent's legs from the knee down, and dashes once more, decapitating the opponent from the eyes up. Smoke finishes by kicking the body from behind, causing the head's severed upper half to fly off and land on the ground.
  • Hairline Fracture: Sub-Zero creates a massive icicle boomerang and horizontally bisects the opponent with it. He then roundhouse kicks their upper torso, turning it 180 degrees in time for the returning boomerang to bury itself in the top of the victim's skull with blood gushing everywhere. As their body slumps over, the opponent goes slack and coughs up plenty of blood before sliding down the icicle in a stream of entrails, followed by their lower body toppling off entirely.
  • Brain Freeze: Sub-Zero conjures an ice wall behind the opponent as they turn around, grabs the back of their head and smashes their face against the wall thrice, the second time peeling off the skin from the opponent's face, and the third one crushing the front part of their skull, leaving their brain stuck to the ice. Sub-Zero then freezes what's left of the head and smashes it against the wall, destroying both as the body slumps down.
  • Helping Hands: Tanya uses her staff to snap the enemy's head for a complete 180 turn before inserting her weapon into their mouth, causing them to kneel. She then proceeds to brutally pull out their head and spine (both being attached the whole time) and, with the help of her magic arms, she compelety rips them off their body.
  • Show of Hands: Tanya uses her magic hands to lift the opponent into the air by the limbs, with the hands then stretching the opponent out flat and breaking the bones inside. Tanya then throws a spear through the opponent, taking the head through them and splitting their body completely in half. The spear then lands with the opponent's head impaled on to it, with blood everywhere as the magic hands drop the two halves of the opponent's body.
  • Trained Killer: Omni-Man grabs the opponent and flies them far way, smashing through an underground subway. He holds the opponent in front of an oncoming train, reducing nearly all the passengers to bloody mush as the opponent is gruesomely ripped to shreds. After the final train car is destroyed, Omni-Man holds up what remains of the opponent's upper body before their torso falls off, leaving only their head.
  • Like Putty: Omni-Man grabs the opponent's head and begins slowly squeezing it between the palms of his hands (just like Red Rush's death). As the opponent's eyes bulge out of their head, with one of them popping out completely, he smashes their head, rips it off and slams it against the ground to brutally cut the opponent in half vertically. Afterwards, Omni-Man raises his boot and completely destroys the opponent's head with a powerful stomp.
  • Pentamagic Trick: Quan Chi summons five glass panes above the opponent and slams them into the middle of the opponent, splitting them into six pieces. The camera pans across the front of the opponent before Quan Chi opens the glass panes in an arc (a la "Hannibal"), exposing the insides of the opponent before unsummoning the glass panes, causing the opponent's sliced corpse to fall to the ground.
  • Final Offering: Quan Chi sends a soul into the opponent's mouth, and their eyes briefly glow green before they start screaming and shredding their face with their fingers, gouging their eyes out and ripping off their lower jaw. After that they twist their head 180 degrees backwards and rip it completely off, followed up by them getting on their knees and offering it to Quan Chi, who laughs sadistically while holding the opponent's head and the opponent's headless body falls down.
  • Pest Exterminator: Peacemaker discovers, to his shock, that a Butterfly has infected the opponent. He pulls out a KSG shotgun and shoots off both the opponent's arms and one of their legs in a failed attempt to shoot the alien parasite. When the Butterfly flies near center-mass, Peacemaker kills the opponent by shooting a hole in their torso, only to miss again as the Butterfly flies onto his shotgun's barrel. Frustrated, Peacemaker grabs the Butterfly and crushes it, killing it.
  • Flight Delayed to Rest: Strapping on a jetpack, Peacemaker launches himself at the opponent and catches them at the torso, which tears off their legs from their body. After flying for a while, he slams the opponent to the ground and shouts "Activate Sonic Boom!", producing a sonic shockwave that pulverizes the opponent. In the gruesome aftermath, Peacemaker, who's covered in the opponent's gore, feeds Eagly a piece of the opponent's brain that landed on his shoulder.
  • Vitruvian Maim: Ermac lifts his opponent in the air with their arms and legs outstretched before spinning them around counterclockwise, severing their hands and feet and leaving them hanging upside down. He then spins the opponent around clockwise, severing their arms and legs and placing their hands and feet on opposite places before brutally crushing their body into a ball of bloody meat, with their new mismatched limbs and head sticking out and lying amidst a pool of blood.
  • Fatality 2: Ermac pushes his opponent's soul out of their body before ripping their body apart in half. He then walks up to his opponent's soul and proceeds to absorb them into him, levitating and inhaling them with his mouth as the soul struggles to escape, only to fall and futilely try to crawl away before being fully consumed, starting with their lower body half, then their right arm, torso, and finally their head. Ermac then stops levitating and lands on his feet afterwards.

Profanity

  • There are a few uses of fuck, asshole and bitch in the game but not a lot.
  • In Johnny Cage's intro, he sticks up the middle finger.

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • Occasionally, there is smoking and drinking. Madam Bo smokes once in the story.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • The extreme violence can be overwhelming at times but this is a fantastical fighting game and not anything realistic.
  • Compared to the previous games, this game has a rather lighthearted and optimistic tone, with the story focusing on Liu Kang bringing peace to his New Era, learning from Raiden's past mistakes and succeeding in becoming a better protector of Earthrealm than his predecessor along the way. That said, there are some dark moments scattered throughout, and the violence is as graphic and gory as always.
  • Rated R for strong bloody violence throughout, grisly images, language and some drug use.
