another medicore netflix film

In his shadow is a lot like noise. Both movies are thrillers, the plots are actually intersesting, but its just not executed well. In in his shadow two half brothers called ibrahim and adama are on opposites sides after the death of their father. Ibrahim is a right piece of work and you'll definatly not like him. While adama is blinde and has a cute doggo. The dubbing is not all that bad but the script is not great. The movie is also a little depressing and uneedfully gory. But it does have a satifying ending, which is probably the best thing about the movie. Theres also more fake baby crying which i dont get. Overall in his shadow is not a great movie but the plot is watchable and the acting is not bad.

Seeing ... through it

No pun intended - obviously our main character here can not see, right? But as they say, when you lose one sense the others get heightened ... which seems to be true here. On the other hand, there is a lot more going on than a man with ... impaired eye sight.

Obviously family issues are big part, but also social issues, housing issues and society itself that looks down at certain people (no pun intended). The suspense is great and it holds tight - until the very end. Which may or may not shock you. There quite a few things that happen along the way - and you know those are not the nicest things ... but you stick around if you are not too sensitive, to see where it will lead. Even without a dog, you'll be able to find around ...

Convincing drama
searchanddestroy-124 March 2023
New French Blaxploitation but brilliant, tense, gripping, this tale of half brothers that could remind John Singleton's BOYS IN THE HOOD or some movies from the Hughes Brothers made in the early nineties; cry from the ghetto's stuff. Great acting, I repeat, Kaaris is purely awesome in this gang leader character, but I don't imagine him playing something else, for instance a cop. This is a cute and poignant drama, maybe not really crime drama, but surely social drama that deserves to be seen. So please don't despise it because it seems to be destined to Black audiences. It is not, I don't belong to these audiences and I really appreciated this movie produced and released by Netflix.
