Better Than I Had Anticipated
amsahuri12 May 2023
I don't understand the level of hate I've seen in the reviews. When I saw the commercials I wasn't a huge fan of the art style, and the jokes seemed pretty cookie cutter. But then I put on the show and I was impressed with their willingness to "go for it" and not play it totally safe. The delivery from the voice cast is the most favors when it comes to the humor, because yes a fair amount of the jokes are pretty cliche, but the delivery from the brothers is really where this show is at its best. While I don't really think it's quite unique enough to stand out in any significant way yet, I think it's fairly solid in its foundation and I had some genuine laughs that honestly surprised me. I think a lot of the 1/10 reviews are really unjust and a lot of that has to do with the mediocre art direction. Not the best adult animation out there, but certainly not terrible. 1/10 reviews are reserved for absolute corporate trainwrecks, like Chicago Party Aunt, which this is not. 6-7/10, better than "Meh" but nothing game changing.

Please don't make me be the one who always delivers the bad news - I don't enjoy it - at all!
orcinussr3 April 2023
Soooo... Not great.. not great at all - so far all they've seemed to do is nibble on the Simpsons in a manner alleges to be an homage but more likely some content padding and worse yet - heavily punch the Bidet joke - which, of course, is literal bathroom humor and simply isn't funny - I feel there's still potential here and who am I to criticize right ? (other than the fact I watch a ton, like all, of the animated shows) but we'll see - also the animation is poor and utilizes repetitive frames which, ya I get it, but when your attempting to land a Family Guy-esque drawn out gag, ya know.. Do the darn work - it's not the money it's the honey right? And the honey just ain't flowing!

A decent show with some good characters
Vancour24 June 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Outside of the artstyle which I felt was very cheap looking I have to say the characters and the story's were... ok. The series wasn't great to start with but it built on itself and ended strongly. Got a few good laughs out of me. The son who used to be in a Band was great, probably my favorite out of the bunch as he's so prideful of his time in the band but nobody cares was just constant amusing. Stebe was good, how he got his name was a surprise. There Father was... there. Stebe's son was a little like Chris Griffon but less dumb. Stebe's wife was also good and had a good fight with some competitors. Anyway I enjoyed it, just not enough to give it more then a 7.

Horrible. Just horrible
nasdagoodshepherd4 April 2023
Look, I loved Adult Swim. I always praise them for a variety of shows, Smiling Friends, Aqua Teen Hunger Force, Final Space, Primal, Moral Orel, Robot Chicken, Venture Bros, The Boondocks, The Shivering Truth, Tigtone, JJ Villard's Fairy Tales, Black Dynamite, Tuca & Bertie, YOLO, Home Movies, The Jellies!, Squidbillies, Metalocalypse, Harvey Birdman: Attorney at Law, Mike Tyson Mysteries, Lazor Wulf, Blade Runner: Black Lotus, etc.

But there are some shows that rubbed me the wrong way, some shows from AS are just absolute rubbish. Like for example, Assy McGee, Minoriteam, and the new show...ugh, Royal Crackers.

Now, to be fair, when I saw the trailer, I see that the jokes don't land, the characters are awful, and the art style is hideous to look at and frankly, I was right. This show is horrible.

I don't even give a crap about the characters, I could care less about the humor, I don't care about anything about this show, the jokes are not funny, all the characters are so terrible, you want them all dead, the animation is bland, and again, the art style is a total eye sore. The only positive is that the voice acting is solid, that's it.

Yet, I still can't believe that some of my favorite AS shows like Final Space, Tigtone, Tuca & Bertie, and Lazor Wulf are canceled and they decided to renew Royal Crappers for a second season, I really hope it doesn't get a third season because I really had enough of this show. Say what you want about HBO Max's Velma, but at least it's art style looks stunning and the animation is good, but this show sucks, I wouldn't recommend anyone to watch it. Oh and Warner Bros. Discovery can rot in the dumpster too!

uhuhuh! let's not compare this show. The kind of show you would find on HBO MAX.
mcshannonj4 August 2023
Royal Crackers is funny. It's not the best show ever made but it tries to be good at what it's trying to do. It doesn't try real hard. It doesn't try to less. The show isn't perfect. What Royal Crackers does achieve is to make fun of the way too upper class. The ones that are not welcoming to others.

In between the show is funny with it's small talk. It creates simple comedy by Stebe being the way he just is. Stebe points out things he observes and shares too much. Don't we all once in a while? Maybe the difference is we keep those things to ourselves and don't overshare.

Besides the characters the story is written along a family that has money but clearly does not know how to use it. They have trouble fitting in with the family business and the competitive businesses.

Without spoiling anything from the show I'm going to say you need to watch it. This show is going to be as big as Rick and Morty. It might not be the best and prettiest animation but this show has something that's in the presence of fandom.

Nothing in Royal Crackers is super cringy. It's just clean silly fun. So if you are looking for that cringe like Bob's Burgers offers look somewhere else. This show has stupid comedy. People singing like Korn, People eating drywall, Playing Minecraft. Do not expect them to make a 2 hour movie or get science fictiony on this show. Remember when watching it's just Royal Crackers. It's good but not the best thing ever invented.

Simply awful
Ankhenaten9111 April 2023
Simply awful characters that have no redeeming qualities. The show isn't funny, it's actually really cruel and mean spirited. Imagine The Righteous Gemstones, but without the nuance and quality, but animated. This show is joyless, mean and simply not entertaining in the least. The voice cast is doing a commendable job with awful scripts, but the writing is just one crass, boring and unfunny attempt at humor after another. No jokes land, the animation is ugly too. When I see that something like this is being produced, it makes me question what kind of world were living in?

Watching this show, all I can ask is why is this show on the air? Who is this for?

Kept getting better
luc-6501814 April 2023
Last two episodes of this show were great and amusing! The start of the show had a very slow onset and I agree it was rather boring. Then it took a turn and we got to see more of the personalities of the characters and the plot unfolded into surreal bowl of pleasant chaos. The animation has a very minimalistic style which is not usual for this decade anymore and I personally enjoy to see this "low effort animation". It really is a matter of taste! The scenes are often repetitive with zero change almost like it's a loop but being put in the right moment they came out as hilarious. Curious how the season 2 will turn out.

I've seen worst, definitely seen better.
eaton-deck044 June 2023
I went into this show not knowing what to expect. Leaving it, I don't really have a strong opinion. That's mostly because I forgot like 90% of what happened in it. But also, there isn't really much to write home about with this show.

The humor isn't really for me, most of the characters aren't that likeable, the writing is hit or miss, it's not a good looking show, and it's just kind of boring. There isn't really anything all that interesting about the show. It's not really bad, but it isn't good either. It's probably Adult Swim's most middle ground show since Harg Nallin Sclopio Peepio.

If you haven't watched it, you're not really missing out on much.

Dear God what's with all these bad reviews?
pbresnik4 August 2023
Royal Crackers is pretty damn good imo. Idk, talking about every day topics in an absurdist manner, commenting on the antiquated nature our society has with old industry, also, it's funny! Not everything works and I think the flash animation kind of messed with people, like because it isn't pretty it isn't good. Theo is hilarious, there are real people like him and they are kind of strange shapes, as if the universe is laughing at itself. The old industry is hinted at throughout the show like one of the patriarch's friends and in flashbacks etc. Stebe? That's funny dumb humor that I like. The Deb character has a sincerity and irony to her and it is great, the kid? Hilarious, somehow I have had some, remember now some moments relatable to him. The patriarch is funny too.

Disappointment in Adult Swim
didupraytoday10 May 2023
This show SUCKS. It has bad humor, hideous art, and whoever in the adult swim HQ approved this, deserves to be fired. Who thought that this was a good show? It has a very unfunny character with a ripoff Metallica shirt and man thought it was funny to just play the Seinfeld theme when it you're not even playing it, plus the writing is VERY bad like VERY VERY bad. And let's go back to the art, I know i'm not a good artist but who decided for the art to look like that? It looks like a 10 year old drew it! By the way, I'm going to say this again, the jokes don't even make sense and I HAVE NEVER seen a adult swim show that unfunny. Bravo, Adult Swim, you just made the worst ever show in your entire life. If you want a actually enjoyable and funny adult swim show other then Rick and Morty, please for the love of god, at least watch Smiling Friends because that is top tier goofy comedy.

only because it wont let me put 0 stars
slysonicsky22 May 2023
This show is without a doubt the worst adult cartoon I have ever watched, the teasers were completely unfunny and devoid of any effort which reflected in the show itself, not one 'joke' was even close to resembling anything considered funny or entertaining, the characters were incredibly bland and forgettable with as much personality as a blank piece of paper and dialog so bad it feels like the show was written by a bunch of children who think screaming random stuff equals humor, not even the animation was anything decent, with character designs and backgrounds on the same level as a first graders doodle on a notebook, even the worst episodes of Family Guy were better then any second of this horrible show.

Surprisingly charming and fun
whouss23 May 2023
Royal crackers has been an absolute joy so far. Seeing the trailers for this show I didn't have high expectations but its really proven to be a witty, creative, fun show. Its like "Bobs Burgers" meets "It's always sunny in Philadelphia". The humor is bizarre and and they really take chances but the writing is great. TThe characters are deep and complex, they all play off of each other really well, they are the worst kind of people but somewhat endearing at the same time. I highly suggest you give this show a chance, its definitely not for everyone but I think most people will be pleasantly surprised with what they find when they then into "Royal Crackers".

INSTANT CLASSIC
wnbrnp10 May 2023
If I had to describe Royal Crackers I would say it's a surreal, zany, wacky slice of life with slight occult tones. It's a mix of The Office American Dad & Mr Pickle with the maturity of Futurama.. The negative reviews don't match the show at all..this is clearly a well thought out planned ahead written show..the comedy in this show is very mature & smart. It's more situational & dialogue based than other animations. There's a comedy central animation that came out same time as this one & Royal crackers makes that one seem childish & like cheap low hanging fruit (i very much enjoy that show as well, Royal crackers is just written that much better), there are zero cheap laughs. The natural dialogue situations & writing is so hilarious that this show doesn't rely on actual jokes & one liners.. all the characters are amazing & written realistically the voice actors are perfect for their characters. The English voice actress that plays Naruto plays the son & i enjoy hearing her very much. If you love realistic characters in a very realistic family with struggling heartwarming can't catch a break characters that can make you laugh with their words & situations in a world that sometimes shows you theres a lot of blood violence murder & the supernatural this is for you.

No fun or joy in this one
chris-j-chuba5 May 2024
I was looking for some offball humor now that I have watched every episode of Rick and Morty several times over but this misses the mark.

None of the characters are likeable except for the minor character, Al, who looks helpless as he watches the founding company psychopath commit various acts of evil ('No witnesses!', was that supposed to be a joke?) Don't expect to see anything as good as Mr Burns / Smithers. Theo is a creepy stalker and the mother and youngest son are not pleasant to watch. Stebe is unremarkable and for some reason, there is a running gag about strangers patting his junk in public (hysterical).

Some people may like this, to each their own. My advice is to watch the top rated shows and if you find yourself thinking, 'when will this get good?', the answer is never.

Funny, Off-putting and Full of Heart
pfergee-094137 June 2023
All I feel the need to say is that the show is worthy of your time despite the rough exterior. This feels like something Adult Swim would have put out in it's earliest days while also embracing the vulnerability a lot of more modern comedies aren't afraid to have. Whether it be Arrested Development, Bob's Burgers, Bojack Horseman, or Home Movies, this show is never afraid to wear it's influences proudly. And why wouldn't it? Royal Crackers is as every bit familiar as it is inspired. For every scene that feels like comedic homage, there are multiple scenes in this show that simply don't have an equivalent anywhere else (anyone who has seen the season 1 finale will understand what I mean). If you are a fan of classic Adult Swim, THIS is a show you need to check out. I am eager for season 2.

One of the best adult animated shows in recent years.
marcusbentontrucksales15 December 2023
I consider myself a bit of a critic - especially when it comes to adult animation - and I can confidently say that Royal Crackers is genuinely a well made series. The characters actually have personalities and real motivations. Not everything is a fart or penis joke. And the plot isn't constantly racing to the next punchline. It gets surreal in the best ways but it's also isn't afraid of being a bit serious when needed.

Ive done nothing but sing Royal Cracker's praises to everyone I know. But today I just so happened to look it up on IMDb and I was a bit surprised by the rating. I honestly can't think of anything inherently "wrong" with this show. I feel it's actually an original animated series in a sea of halfhearted family guy clones.

Royal Crackers deserves higher praise and I hope it gets a second season.

Relatable comedy
alexis_ramsdell5 April 2023
I definitely like that they stay with things that actually relates to stuff in my life. The music references and jokes are damn funny 😄 I hope people check this show out a different mindset but I truly think we need that in todays world! South Park cant be the only one cracking jokes - we need more!

I know this may not be everyone's forte but for comedy to work we have to expand what we think is funny. Give people a chance to show their true hat comedy is! This show may be weird but I think it's only gonna get funnier. Let's see what this show can do! I think they will only get better as they have time to create a vibe 💯

Pretty funny
evoapollo5 April 2023
Warning: Spoilers
I'm giving this show a watch and it's pretty funny so far it's got relatable humor and Theo is pretty funny. I didn't expect much from this show but I did find it funny or at least watchable. Way more enjoyable than that god awful digman on Comedy Central. This show actually looks funny the concept seems pretty funny, characters look funny. I think the parents thinking. Cbd gummies are "drugs" was a funny concept had me laughing pretty hard. I wouldn't take the show seriously but I could totally get high and enjoy this show. There's not too many funny shows out there right now but this one seems pretty funny I'm willing to give it a try in a few episodes.

PLEASE READ
mckennaduveneck13 July 2023
Words alone could not thoroughly express how much I love this show. I live and breathe Royal Crackers. The characters are hilariously relatable, and their stories and dialogue are well-written. It's not for everyone, as the jokes will not land with everyone, but the fact that they did not play it safe makes the show so much better. Personally, I love the design, but I can see how it may not be attractive at first. I have never written a review before, but I am so incredibly upset at the lack of recognition this show has received. It kills me to see that it has not yet reached the audience that will appreciate it. If you are reading this, please, finish the entire series. I cried on the last episode, that was how much I loved it. Also, I will probably kill myself if there is no second season, so my life is in your hands. Thank you. God bless Royal Crackers.

So good
donmega62825 March 2024
I have no problem guaranteeing any negative reviews come from someone who was in a bad mood and gave up minutes in, or hates their life in general.

This show is ridiculously funny. If you actually like comedy and are down for some absurd jokes, you'll love it.

Incredible voice casting. Comedy fans will recognize most characters just by their voice. After checking the cast list you'll recognize even more.

Episode 5 is one of the best episodes of adult animation I've ever seen. Beyond hilarious, Oscars should be given to genius like this.

So stop hating because you don't understand how to have fun. Do your best to enjoy your life. This show will help.

Not what you expect in the best way possible
Ben_T_3 March 2024
This thing . . . It should be featured on the wikipedia page of "underpromise, overdeliver".

From the looks of it, you expect a mild family drama but what you get is . . . I'm not even sure how to describe it . . . Everything . . . You get everything.

Every episode is a minefield where you are genuinely excited about the next click under your foot.

Characters are 3 dimensional, flawed each in their own understandable ways, with more of the past being revealed each episode.

Creativity is intense, abundant but also somehow not "spray and pray", it's focused and disciplined.

I'm not sure what I'm more curious about: what's gonna happen next, or how long the creators will be able to keep up this fire hydrant of a show.

Hilarious And Different
CartoonMan202028 March 2024
This is a good show. It's funny, unique, and yet not so much so that it comes of as weird or trying too hard. The voice cast is pretty good, the writing and directing are both decent. The animation is kinda poor but overall I like it. In the end it's just a good, funny cartoon on adult swim. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

Interesting fact: In 2015, St. Clair said that she and Lennon Parham had both learned Transcendental Meditation. In 2017, St. Clair revealed that she had undergone treatment for breast cancer after being diagnosed in September 2015, and this was incorporated into the third season of Playing House when her character Emma was similarly diagnosed.

Royal crackers is the best adult animation I've ever seen. It hits all the notes
sharpesashton31 March 2024
I absolutely love this show to the band taint to the reputation of the Royal crackers company to Theodore Hornsby himself this show is downright awesome if you haven't seen this show yet and if you made a bad review, you have not seen this show yet Watch this show, you will not regret it. This show is on track to be the next family guy The characters are super polished At points that has dark premises, almost like five nights at Freddy's Keeps you on the edge of your seat wanting more I haven't seen anything better than this in ages. This show is exactly what you want to watch. Watch What I'm saying is watch it you will not regret it.

Only getting better
kunwarsaurav24 April 2024
This show is such a breath of fresh air! It started out as something I would expect on Adult Swim but has evolved in a fantastic way. The shoutout to the Nu Metal crowd is a unique touch that you don't often see and is really appreciated. Season 2 surpasses Season 1, and I'm eager to see this upward trajectory continue. The character development is intricate, and the writing is sharp, witty, and often leaves you thinking. Definitely would recommend a rewatch to pick up on some subtly introduced themes. Whether you're a fan of clever humor or meaningful narratives, 'Royal Crackers' delivers a delightful mix that keeps you coming back for more. Kudos to HBO for backing this one and sticking with it!
