Warning: Spoilers
This story has been told over and over since 1986. There's nothing new to the story. The actors gave their best but everything is predictable. The ending left a bad taste in the mouth since it made killing acceptable as long as those who became killers join the Edsa rally.

It was obvious that the producers and director made this film to combat the narrative of another film about the Marcos side of the EDSA narrative but the story they chose about a poor family is very generic. It is a tale that happens in other countries and in every generation not just during the Marcos Era. Every character is a walking cliche.

Unartistic Approach to a Cliche Narrative
angelicthoughts7 March 2023
I had high hopes for this movie because there are dozens of Martial Law narratives for the past few decades and we have a lot of works of art in the same genre and timeline. This was supposedly a narrative to help maintain the stance of the harm brought about by Martial Law or that era. However, it really brought about the biggest disappointment because the production has a lot of advantages over its precedents. There are better technologies and techniques to provide a more spectacular rendition of this era. However, the whole execution is evident of the director's regressing techniques or lack of it.
