It’s been just over a week since Anthony Scaramucci began his role as Trump’s new White House communications director, and his tenure has already been capped.
The 53-year-old has been removed from the position, and though Scaramucci’s White House reign was short, he left his mark with a jaw-dropping interview and some personal drama.
As usual, social media users had a lot to say about the short-lived “Mooch” era, quickly sharing jokes and memes to commemorate Scaramucci’s removal.
Joked Scandal star Josh Malina, “@Scaramucci Chin up! You accomplished a lot in your first 100 seconds.”

From StudioCanal comes the gripping true story of how an entrepreneur helped one restaurant become the world’s largest fast food chain. The incredible true story of how Ray Kroc (Academy Award nominee Michael Keaton; Spotlight, Birdman), a salesman from Illinois, met Mac (John Carroll Lynch; Jackie) and Dick McDonald (Nick Offerman; 22 Jump Street), who were running a burger operation in 1950s Southern California. So impressed by the brothers’ ‘speedy system’, Kroc risked his marriage, bankruptcy and his reputation to create a billion-dollar empire that revolutionised the world.

When you’ve got Trump scandals, memes, selfies and Game of Thrones to worry about it’s easy to get distracted and forget what’s truly important in our lives: family, friends, our health, and simply knowing we exist. But today I’d like to remind all of us that there is much beauty out there both right in front of us as well as all over the world. Take the Grand Canyon for example. I’ve

XLrator Media will release the new high concept, time-travel thriller Paradox in April. The film stars Zoe Bell and Malik Yoba as members of a scientific team who are on the cusp of inventing time travel. Of course, as is usually the case, their success could also lead to their downfall.
Between this, Synchronicity, Time Lapse and many other indie time travel flicks recently it's a good time to be into high concept scifi.
Synopsis:
A group of young scientists are working on a secret project that may allow them to travel ahead in time. They test it by sending one of their own ahead one hour. He returns pleading with them to shut it down, explaining that within that hour, they will all die.
Paradox hits theaters April 15, 2016.

Late in Jacob Gentry’s thought-provoking but clumsy sci-fi time bender, Synchronicity, one character says to the other: “You have the power to cross the universe in an instant… All the things you could accomplish, all the questions you could answer, and you just want to get laid.” That monologue synthesizes the most important aspect of the latest crop of time travel movies: they’re all rooted in primal concerns. Like last year’s underrated Time Lapse, Synchronicity centrally revolves around the way a relationship feeds into a headier concept — in this case, time travel.
Unfortunately, even by the end when all the twists have been revealed that explain that central relationship, it still just doesn’t make sense. But even if Synchronicity doesn’t succeed on its own merits as a story, it’s another example of the possibilities of low-budget sci-fi alongside recent successes like Coherence and The One I Love.

What if you had a camera that took pictures that showed what would happen in that exact spot 24 hours in the future? Except, you couldn’t move the camera, so it only took pictures of the same living room occupied by a hipster painter-slash-apartment building manager, his wannabe writer girlfriend and his loser best friend, who does absolutely nothing but gamble on dog racing? Such is the premise of Time Lapse, a low-budget sci-fi thriller that has plenty of potential--not to mention some legitimately chilling moments--but doesn't quite live up to its promise.

Time travel is a sci-fi device that has lent itself to reinvention again and again, ever since H.G. Wells wrote the first story that had a machine powering a character's ability to make a temporal leap. Writers' fresh takes on how time travel works open up situations that wouldn't happen in a world where it takes 24 hours to travel one day into the future and where you can't relive your past. Time travel let us watch a teenager hang out with his parents when they were his age, a man become the father to his resistance leader friend, and an agent track down a suspect in two times at once, delivering one of cinema’s most compelling car chases (it helps that Denzel Washington was behind the wheel there too). New thriller "Time Lapse," now in theaters and on VOD, has its own way of playing with time: A camera...

It's been wowing crowds at festivals for over a year and for good reason: it's a great yarn. Bradley King's time travel tale Time Lapse, which I enjoyed, is much more concerned with drama and the characters at the centre of the story than it is with time travel itself. That's not to say that there isn't some mind bending time warping going on, there's plenty of that when you start to unfold the layers, but it's all beautifully and simply laid out to propel the story forward.
Earlier this week I had the opportunity to speak with King, who directed and co-wrote the movie, about the concept for the story, finding the perfect cast and just how they managed to keep the story on track. [Continued ...]...

In indie filmmaker Bradley King’s Santa Monica, Calif. office, Legos cover the desks, and multi-colored index cards line the walls. They’re both tools for King and his writing partner, Bp Cooper, to map out their screenplays. The indie filmmaking duo has a new sci-fi movie in theaters this Friday called “Time Lapse.” The index cards – complete with yarn connecting each plot point – is a familiar writing tool, and King and Cooper are using it now for two in-the-works scripts. One wall of their office is also devoted to breaking down the plot of Alfred Hitchcock’s “North by Northwest” for inspiration. The Legos – and their boxes with labels like “minifigs,” “lights” and “vehicles” – are less commonly seen in writers’ offices, so let King explain: “When you’re playing with toys or dolls you don’t have to be like, ‘What’s this character’s motivation?’ You just immediately are like,...

If you had a way to see into the future, what would you do with that power? Would you use it to make money, to spark artistic inspiration, or to fix your relationship? All three happen in new indie sci-fi film “Time Lapse” when three friends discover a camera that can take photos of the future. They find the massive camera in their neighbor’s apartment, pointed directly at the living room window of their own Los Angeles bungalow apartment. Soon they figure out that “the machine,” as they call it, prints a photo at every day 8 p.m. of what’s happening 24 hours in the future. Roommate Jasper (played by George Finn) takes this opportunity to bet on dog races as the camera's Polaroids reveal the race results. Meanwhile, his painter roommate Finn (Matt O’Leary) breaks his creative block as the photos give him a peek at paintings...

Like any good movie, the best time travel stories aren't the ones that only deal with the mechanics of time travel but those that include some sort of personal drama. Even more so than most, Time Lapse overlooks the science part of time travel by essentially chalking it up to "don't mess with a good thing" and focuses almost exclusively on the unfolding drama.

Aurora BorealisMy recent films are 3D images of nature and people in the environment. There is no narrative or no scripted work along with 3D images. I may call my films visual essays or poems. My approach to 3D films is to visualize and experience actual existences substances that are real in normally impossible ways without using any CG.I am originally a Holography artist. Holography is a totally different medium, and has different vocabulary. It invades our space yet co-exists. It creates an illusion and that is why holography is so special. But very few holography works are taken seriously by the world of art. I am afraid that 3D films might have similar fate. Amusement park-type 3D effects are still wanted by many.By contributing part of the technical side of my work, I hope you find my aesthetic intention. I also hope that by sharing technical methods...
