Alternate versions
For this film's broadcast on Channel 4 as part of New Sexualities (1993), this film was censored. According to presenter Benjamin Woolley, this wasn't channel editing, but actually with the director's consent: "For reasons that will become apparent, we're showing a version specially adapted for television by the film maker." These moments of censorship all concern erect penises with condoms, sometimes in the act of penetration: some are pixellated or have black/blue boxes over the top, while there are instances of more creative censors: a "be prepared" blue banner over the footage, an illustration of an ice cream cornet, or black lines like ink/paint smudges.
