the back door pilot for the Originals
jackDee-5656514 February 2021
Originals became a fantastic success and this episode was the beginning of that, the introduction to new orleans, Marcel kamile and the rest of the cast of the spin off and it was a interesting way to start off with this episode showcase which shows klaus side of the story while the offical first episode of the originals is from Elijah's point if view.n honestly both version are really great but the Elijah one is a bit better

Warning: Spoilers
Klaus goes to New Orleans due to Katherine's note on a witch he should meet. Katherine shows up at the Salvatores' place. Klaus goes to meet Marcel, a man he helped bring out of shackles many years ago. Marcel now rules the place with vampires under him and witches terrified of him. The werewolves are no longer present. Elijah shows up to help investigate on the matter. Elijah brings Klaus to the cemetery where it is announced Hayley is pregnant. At first Klaus laughs when they bring out Hayley as he says it was a drunken one night stand. The witch has a special ability of identifying when one is pregnant and because he is half-werewolf, he was able to procreate. Klaus claims to not care - kill the girl and the baby. Elijah is ecstatic of the idea of them becoming a real family with this baby. In the end Klaus tells Elijah on a bench he wants to take over Marcel's place and a king does need an heir.

shallow and boring

Warning: Spoilers
I thought it would be good because I was told it was good. But after the first few minutes I felt like my brain was slowly being drained off. Shallow story. I cant find a character I care about. What's up with the ware wolves? Ten episodes later and not even one has been shown in its full glory. Then it started with the good witch who was against the harvest, but somehow got converted and became the master of the ceremony so that she could complete the ritual. Then there's the pregnant wolf lady, who has this sick relationship with the brother of her baby daddy. Somehow I don't care what happens to her or her baby, she's that boring. And after living in America for three hundred years, they still get to keep their accents? Oh please. Some of us have brains that work.

Three starts because they managed to trick me into watching that many episodes with the lie that it would get better, very smart, but no more. And for the almost original story.
