Abdulla Khan is a British-Pakistani Muslim doctor who is going to find out. It is cultural appropriation if you go out on Halloween dressed as Count Dracula.
All because Kathy (Jaime Winstone) a vampiress who fancies some halal virgin blood of Muslims. Her first victims are two people who left the mosque and thought no monster would ever chase a Muslim. You never see that in the movies.
The first episode starts off very bloody Mary with Jaime Winstone dressed up as a demented bloodthirsty Lily Savage. She has tasted the blood of Jewish, Buddhists and Christians. She is never going to find a virgin woman round these parts.
While Abdulla is mocked as someone who has abandoned his cultural roots. He cannot speak Urdu and does not even know it's Eid.
I did think the first episode overdid the cultural aspects. It was plastered on too much. Like it was unaware comedies such as Citizen Khan ran on BBC1 over a decade ago. Even Channel 4 did We Are Lady Parts a few years ago and Disney/Marvel with Ms Marvel.
Still this has a promising premise.
