Awesome first episode.

The Council arrive at Broad Hill care home in a bid to make budget cuts and possibly close the home, senior carer Hannah is determined to fight the cuts, assisted by her team, Dougie, Kev and Derek.

It's fair to say that for a lot of people when they think of Ricky Gervais in comedy, they think of The Office, for me though, it'll always be Derek.

The series kicks off with an absolute belter, it's a classic first episode, we get a real glimpse of what's to come, it's hilarious, it's moving, it's poignant, they're all characters you'll grow to love.

Laughs galore, the tadpoles, the attempts to get signatures and of course a naked Kev in the old lady's bed, but it's Dougie's awesome outburst that stands out.

Ricky Gervais, I adore you.

Great start.
