Why the Elena hate?

I'm not sure if the fans have warped their view of the series, but I remember Damon, who can basically control what Elena does, convinced her to switch her humanity off. He honestly tainted Elena's morals once she became a vampire and left Stefan she became more selfish, and I am not saying this is a bad thing because at some point a person needs to start putting themselves first for the better. I just don't get how someone can complain about Elena grieving over her brother dying? That is the last of her family, they have all died. How would you react?

Elena lies on the road and a woman driving stops her car to approach Elena. Elena starts to feed on her until Damon tells her enough. She leaves and he is left looking around. Later in their beautiful home with the fire going the Salvatores discuss Elena's behaviour after a few days of Jeremy's death.
Hayley walks looking around in the evening - she looks soo pretty. A vampire attacks her and Klaus bites him saying that is no way to treat a lady. Klaus takes her to his home.
Elena is in the shower with her breasts covered with one hand. She hears the Salvatores talking about her. She comes out naked and says it's not anything you haven't seen before. At school Elena asks Caroline for her position back in the cheerleading squad. She looks fantastic in her red cheering outfit but we see her spot out one of the opposition's cheerleaders dressed in blue mentioning she left her makeup bag on the bus. Elena goes to the bus and bites her, taking her blue hair ribbon. When she comes back Caroline spots the blue ribbon and Stefan comes up asking if everything is okay after hearing the two girls bicker. During the routine Elena lets Caroline fall and walks off. Outside she texts with a red jersey jacket on and her blue ribbon in her hair. Stefan walks alongside her and persuades her to let him to take her out. He gives her a shot of vervain and she wakes up in his home. She begins stripping in front of him with her black bra in view. He replies it is what Katherine used to do - manipulate with sex. Elena replies he looks good - she remembers the sex they had, it was good - but she feels nothing about it now. Outside there is a commotion and it turns out Elena was texting people to come to the home for a party. Caroline comes and wonders what to do. She looks at Elena having fun and feels like letting go like her. Caroline tells Stefan he is him and at a kegger filled with hot girls. Enjoy himself.
Meanwhile Klaus has dined and wined with Hayley in his home. After some back and forth, Klaus announces after receiving a call that Hayley's vampire stalker named Will is dead. She can leave now. Hayley has a glint in her eye and Klaus catches on quick. She tells him he likes to be in control so he decides if she leaves or stays. Klaus initiates the sex and slams her on to a table. He touches her torso as we see her with her beige bra.
Later Hayley is putting her bra back on and Klaus catches her before she leaves. He notices the tattoo on her back and tells her he knows the family it belongs to.
