Youre new favorite Uncle in the house!
fpkvbcjmj29 March 2023
This series will give you good vibes for sure. Its a courtroom drama but not so much drama with just the right comedy. Like the title says, its all about divorce cases. It has its usual korean cliches but quite bearable. What I liked the most is the friendship of these three middle-aged men. Attorney Shin is my absolute favorite uncle, in fact I would love them 3 to be my uncles. They're so cool when all together and even individually. I'm on episode 6 so I'm hoping it doesn't go downhill like a lot of kseries. Similar to Attorney Woo, this is quite entertaining and doesn't give you depressing vibes.

Amazing Story with Great comedy aswell!
vegablades10 March 2023
I am almost done watching the entire season and I'm just glad I gave it a shot. Without giving too much away the first main story we can all really relate too. A personal video leaking on the internet. However the consequences of that can literally break someone's life forever. That's where Attorney shin comes in try to save the day. The comedy in this show is off the charts too and the way it's really balanced from such a serious tone to full on comedy but it really works. It's also a show I made my parents watch because besides being a really good show. It doesn't have really explicit scenes that a person would not be comfortable watching with the family. So you want really intriguing real life story and some very funny comedy aswell, LOOK NO FURTHER!

Better than recent Netflix rubbish

Warning: Spoilers
The stories of the clients of Attorney Shin along with his own ongoing story of the death of his sister and his struggles to protect his nephew.

Some of the characters in this I felt were miscast - especially the lady with the two teenage daughters and a hateful mother-in-law. She looked far too mature to have two young daughters - and their resolution was completely unbelievable.

The case of the woman tricked into a relationship and the resultant explicit video costing her her job and her confidence. Really? That is a bit old hat these days - it has been done so many times.

I felt the actress was not particularly good - she didn't have much to do anyway and did it poorly. Her son was a better actor than she was.

The farmer was once again a very implausible ending.

I found the three way bromance somewhat wearing at times and at least one of them wanted a bit more than that it seemed.

In the case of the schizophrenic woman - I think there was a mistake in that - inasmuch as the husband joined the schizophrenic support group before he knew that she suffered from it - but I may have got that wrong.

When his friend got it together with the noodle shop lady we had no mention of it beforehand - there were a lot of instances where things weren't shown to be happening.

The court cases went on for too long and some of his arguments were rather silly.

All in all it was OK - but nothing special.

Must watch! Watch it and you won't regret
caydenboey9 May 2023
This show is worth to watch. And i think it's too underrated that's why I purposely create account in here to recommend this show.

Love the bromance and the friendship between them. It makes me laugh so hard.

Mostly kdrama will have down hill part in the middle of the show which I didn't find from this show.

Hope netflix will have more of this kind of great show like this. A show doesn't need to spend a huge investment but with the right script and the right story everyone will enjoy it.

Watch it and you'll know and I'm sure you won't regret it. I also will recommend this show to my mum as she also love kdrama.

Thoughtful yet light
Infin1teBloom28 July 2023
Its a very easy watch, quite relaxing yet also packs quite a few emotional punches.

The story develops naturally and holds few twists. It is more about the emotional connections people have and create, than a thrilling legal show.

The friendship of the three leads brings both the comic relief as well as the safety for emotional breakdown. Its rare to have such a believable, healthy friendship in a series and thus definitely worth watching for that alone.

The premise of the show would have easily allowed for 16 episodes or more. The fact they stayed within 12, makes for a tightly written, fillerfree experience. Definitely recommend this!

Love the story, but not the habits
xmasinswiss26 July 2023
I'm so torn about this one. I really like the story and the main characters.

I also appreciate the show doesn't follow "the case of the week" format, but instead keeps bringing the characters together and build their relations in meaningful ways, telling a much larger "slice of life" story.

But I ABHOR all the open-mouth eating, slurping, belching and teeth-sucking going on in the "comedic" scenes. Is this really comedy watching a red-faced middle-aged man belch loudly over a bowl of noodles??? Or fart is his bed? Or remove his socks and put his bare feet on a table? Or pick his ears with a stick?

I have no idea why some Korean shows do this. Why do they keep bringing these disgusting habits to the screen?

I the end, the show behaves like my dog. Absolutely lovely one moment, beyond disgusting the next.

Another superb Korean comedy drama
wblum524-881-26205223 September 2023
First of all Han hye Jin is absolutely gorgeous. If I was 40 again I would go to Korea, marry her and give up my American citizenship. All kidding aside , another great well written series. All the actors are wonderful in their roles and it's nice to know there are slimey attys and good ones even in Korea. As always in K-dramas the on scene locations show the beauty of this country. The court room scenes are similar to the USA nonsense but it's nice to see people dressed accordingly. I find it amazing how drinking booze over there is commonplace and the national drink is SoJu. Watching these dramas and checking out on line the cultural differences helps to understand their dating practices and the phrases they use as we are more to the point. Good series.

What an enjoy watch!

A real gem. It is short enough (12 episodes) and each character and case has a clear personality and story. This show has really good vibes and at times I really wish I was part of their team or I had the friendship of these 3 middle age single guys. Other characters emotional bonds are portrayed with good amount of complexity, heartwarming, painful; not just romance, but also parent-child, uncle-nephew, brother-sister, mother-in-law-bride.

The script is refreshingly mature and and I could say they tried to portray the fact that, in real life, divorces are not that simple. There are some great moments in the shows that I felt deeply for the characters. When I'm not laughing from the silly jokes, I cried a great deal for the traumatized.

It's sad that this show already had a finale. Hopefully we will see more of Attorney Shin in the future.

Divorce is always ugly...
balletteacher28 July 2023
Warning: Spoilers
This was a light-hearted dramedy dealing with an ugly subject matter called divorce. It has one of my favorite stars, Cho Seung Woo, who was brilliant in STRANGER. His two co-stars, Kim Sung Kyun and Jung Moon Sung were the comic relief of the series...all three showing what strong friendship truly is. Han Hye Jin, who played Seo Jin, the pretty DJ/divorcee, was used quite sparingly. She started off strongly, then her character waned toward the end. The owner of the Ramen restaurant, actress Kang Mal Geum, stole the scene whenever she was on. What a delight! The two boys, victims of divorce, were also very convincing - and my heart broke at their situations. OVERALL, this series was compelling within the divorce cases, but I am still wondering what his being a concert pianist had to do with the whole story?? As an artist myself, I wish they concentrated more in that part of Sung Han's life. The piano scene was unbelievable!! CSW looked like he was playing that difficult concerto for real!! I loved much of the music, esp the classical ones. The ending was ok, satisfying, but left a WIDE open window for a season 2.

Typical of too many K-dramas
fredmelden-127 June 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Good basic plot idea. But why the childish scenes? Like the camping scenes with adults acting like kids? Complete with rinky-dinky music to let us know, "Hey, this is a cutesy cutesy scene." This could have been a serious romantic drama, but the characters are totally incapable of seeing the obvious: Lee Seo-jin is going to fall for Shin; the ramen cook is going to fall for the divorcee; and Shin is going to easily find a rabbit to pull out of the hat to win each case. No need to show extensive investigations to find the key info that will win the cases. And Lee's child...well who could find a more perfect child. The.paralegal and other outer-office chap always argue over silly things in silly ways - more cutesy-cutesy. Finally, K-drama just has to have background songs to tell us that the plot is so beautiful, it makes us want to karaoke. Real directors learned and set forth the correct principle for background music. Less is better; the scene should convey the meaning and emotion to evoke from the audience.
