One of the best pilot episodes of anime in recent memory.

Where do I start with this? At the time of writing, I'm convinced this is one of the best premiere episodes of new anime this Summer season.

Everything from its sense of humor, its commentary on unhealthy Japanese work life, to the production side of things like the use of jump cuts, the transition from muted to warm colors, and its stylistic approach to a zombie apocalypse, this episode was just perfect.

Really want to highlight the use of colors in this episode to emphasize how ecstatic Akira felt after being free from work, creating this hilarious juxtaposition that works so well to sell you on the premise.

Legit had me searching for the staff involved in the show. Wowzers. Seeing as the staff involved in the show are from the people behind Komi Can't Communicate and Summer Time Render, I have high hopes that it'll stay consistent in terms of its production values.

This is the best first episode of anime I've seen in quite a while!

This might quite possibly be one of the best first episodes I have ever had the pleasure of experiencing. Not only do I think that the way this show tackles the unhealthy work culture in Japan is absolutely brilliant through a bizarre and yet very clever concept, but I also thought this first episode was flawless from a technical standpoint. Direction and art direction are both aspects in anime that in my eyes have a reputation for not being utulized to its fullest. I feel like most anime coming out these days (but also a lot of anime back in the day) suffer from a rather bland take towards directing/art directing, which makes anime like Zom 100 stand out from the rest of the pack. The clever directing, shot composition and the way scenes flowed into one another through smart transitions is something that this first episode of Zom 100 did like few other anime I've ever seen. The creative art directing was also evident with the juxtaposition between the muted/faded colours and extremely vibrant colours, which was showcased to display the mental state of our protagonist. You can really see the abundance of passion and brilliance on display in these aspects, but it's not limited to that either. I also think the animation was perfect, characters looked extremely expressive and both the action packed and more chill scenes looked extremely smooth. All in all, I'm very happy to see such a vibrant display of passion for once, we don't get that much unfortunately.

I understand if you ain't reading allat, but do me a favour and watch this first episode if you haven't already!

Beat single-episodd pilot in half a decade.

Zom 100 is like of Mirror's Edge and Dead Island 2 had an anime baby. And the pilot is absolutely perfect. From the incredible animation, to the vibrant soundtrack, to the spectacular voice acting to the hilariously poignant writing, Zom 100 really delivers in every sense of the word. Every individual who worked on this show deserves paid vacations and a raise because they are really bringing it with this show. It has the feeling of a bigger budget animated movie than a single show and that says so much about the effort that has gone into this anime. Please, if you have the time or the money please just watch this Zom 100: Bucket List of the Dead.

    Such a masterpiece... Just 10/10

Oh God.. Why did no one tell me about this anime before? What a masterpiece.. What a production.. What a profound philosophical proposition and projections and an extremely original idea.. Just wow.. I know that this anime has been around for a while since its release. I downloaded it and put it in the list of light side anime, but suddenly I decided to watch the first episode, and what a fool I am... I did not know that I would live this experience... literally... it was 10/10... in all respects, the beginning is epic. I honestly do not know what the future will be like, but I hope To continue this approach because the beginning was a lot of fun and madness... wonderful dialogues... the idea of exploitation of employees and psychological problems in companies and work is real and many suffer from the same thing in our world... it is very realistic and the anime raises philosophical questions about freedom, exploitation, love and human life. How can you get lost in moments .. and everything... For just the beginning...it's "10/10"...an epic production from a visual standpoint...a great start and I hope this madness continues with the next episodes.
