The Fault in Our Stars is a 2012 novel by American author John Green. The novel was adapted for the movie by American screenwriters Scott Neustadter and Michael H. Weber.
It's a twist on a classic saying from Shakespeare. The line is about destiny, and how people's fate is not written in the stars, and people choose who they are and what they do: "The fault, dear Brutus, lies not in our stars, but in ourselves if we are underlings." From Julius Caesar. In the book's case, they change it round as they do not get to choose their fate, so it was written in the stars.
No, the book was a product of John Green's imagination.
"Winter" from the Four Seasons by Vivaldi.
The song is called "Hazel Eulogy" by Mike Mogis and Nathaniel Walcott. It can be found on "The Fault In Our Stars: Score From The Motion Picture."
Fans of the adaptation of the best selling novel by John Green can enjoy a bonus for the home cinema release: it contains an extended version which is about 7 minutes longer, however, this only applies to the Blu-ray disc release. The additional scenes offer some additional value for the movie and for example deepen the relationship between Hazel and Gus, which is why the extended cut is a good idea for everyone wanting to buy a Blu-ray disc anyway.
