Patti Waggin spent two years at Chico State College.
Patti Waggin really did race against men on motorcycles and often won.
The 1959 Topps baseball card of Don Rudolph was his second and while it showed he pitched for the Chicago White Sox on the front, the back of the card really did contain a cartoon featuring Patti Waggin dancing on a table with the caption "Don's wife is a professional dancer."
Don Rudolph played for two other major league teams, the Cleveland Indians and the Cincinnati Reds but very limited.
Writer Bob Brill really did get Rudolph's 1959 Topps card in the first pack of trading cards he ever opened on June 26, 1959. He later learned the couple lived about a mile from where he grew up in California and they banked at the bank just a block away from his home. Don later coached youth baseball in the league where Bob played as a child but they missed each other by one year.
