- What would you do if the man who ruined your life, smashed your dreams, derailed your career, and chased you out of the city showed up in the middle of the night at your secluded cabin in the woods, in the middle of a horrific snow storm, half frozen to death? And to top it off is accompanied by his driver, the man who left you alone and broken hearted on New Year's Eve, only one year ago? What would you do?—Anonymous
- Jeannie Taliaferro, a wonderfully talented photographer, has bandaged her wounds from a humiliating Hollywood experience, and has found some peace, quiet and healing in her woodsy, safe, girlhood home. She lives in a small sweet cabin, comfortably out of town, owned and passed down to her by her grandparents. Jeannie has managed to find happiness and creative output even though she has given up her life dream. She's talked herself into settling for her second choice, and she makes a great living as a nature photographer. But life, a funny thing, has other plans, for out of the blue, in the middle of a raging snow storm, her old enemy, the producer Joe Simpson, who fired her and whom she hates, unexpectedly appears. He's frozen, half starving and in desperate need of help. What's a girl to do, but assist in her own terms, which does not include ever letting him in her house... ever! In fact, over her dead body. Thus unfolds our comedy which deals with the eccentric and snowed in townsfolk of Windy Pines, which include among others, Deputy Sheriff Nora Dobson, and her beau, Sweet John, the local mechanic/philosopher. Add the town's favorite diner owner Tom and the flamboyant Ron, plus the Battling Bickerson's, and the plot heats up. Then there's Birdie who is Jeannie's best friend and nine months pregnant. Cole, Birdie's sweetheart must search the snowy woods for Birdie who's decided to walk five miles to Jeannie's to have her baby, reciting to the baby the history of the family as they travel thru the snowy forest. Added to the story, we have Billie, our producer's adept and canny assistant, trapped in their private jet, who is determined to find her boss no matter what she has to do. With her is Brian the pilot who is secretly determined to make Billie his wife, and Joe Simpson's girlfriend, Jazmine, who's angling for a marriage of her own. To add to the fun, we have Dennis, Joe Simpson's loyal driver, who's been hurt, and is missing. Jeannie knew Dennis intimately and there is unfinished business between them.—P.R. Tooke
