This series is truly one of the most underrated and best I've seen. The first three seasons at least are magnificent, they give you that feeling of adventure that even other series today would dream of, a lot of variety of characters and super interesting situations. Eli Shane for example is basically the Nathan Drake of Slugterra, very nice and fun to listen to even in the most tense situations, but who knows how to take things seriously, and has a great soul of an explorer. All the characters are pretty good, even the villains (except some fillers). What if they should have improved is to remove certain repetitive combat scenes and have added more slugs and gadgets, since sometimes this series becomes very monotonous (and therefore I do not recommend it to everyone), and this unfortunately becomes a negative point. A really negative point starting with the fourth season, where it seems that the creators did not have much more desire to make new episodes. The series could have perfectly ended with the third. From the fourth, all that essence of exploration and knowing what is beyond is lost, and they begin to introduce old characters like if it was fan service as if nothing had happened (especially in the fourth, personally the worst season by far) . Well, to be honest, it is something that was partly lost in the second and third seasons but at a lower level, in fact, the first two chapters of the first season seemed by far the best, since they introduce the concepts key to the series in a spectacular way, a better introduction even than Pokemon, its greatest inspiration.
In spite of that, Slugterra ended well within everything, and I can say that although the last three seasons were a disappointment, it was still worth watching this series, although it ended in a very forced and open way. Will there be more seasons? Only time will tell...

While the animation starts with being off-putting, you get used to it, and it becomes smoother with every episode. I enjoyed it when it first came out, then didn't return to it later. From a modern look, it's a bit rough of a show, but the writing's still quite good.
It's about using slugs as ammo in an underground world. Following the adventures of Eli Shane and his friends, you get the concept of 99 different caverns to explore, as well as a nefarious villain and other plotlines. You get typical do-goody nature, complete with typical heroics.
Unfortunately, this series never finished. Even with it's Season 6 Netflix episodes, it was never finished. In fact, it seemingly retconned much of Slugterra only to end with "here's a new character and new plot elements" instead of finishing -anything-.
If you're okay with that fact, then you'll get a pretty enjoyable journey, as long as you forget Season 6 exists and treat it as "he lives underground with his friends, this is his life now, the end". Which would be the best summary of how to end the story after Season 5.
Oddly enough, a mobile game for it still gets updated. The concept would work great for an xcom-styled game, too.
While the lack of an end is a shame, it's still a treat to bless the animated world.

As a (supposed) adult, you'd think I'd have better things to do than sit around all day watching cartoons, but honestly I can't think of a better way to spend my time than by watching Slugterra. It just works! Great characters, excellent world building, brilliant art, clever storyline and amazing voice talent just ties this together into the perfect 10/10 package. Each episode is enjoyable and the progressive storyline is really interesting as well.
I'll be honest, at first I saw this and just thought "Really?? Someone has come up with the idea of 'what if the slugs in guns were ACTUAL slugs?!' and run with it???" But the slugs are adorable and the characters around them take this premise and run far, far away from the basic idea building something far more than just a gunslinging creature-collection cartoon.
I highly recommend Slugterra, just be prepared to want to marathon all three seasons once you start :P

you know, I'm actually really surprised by this fantastic piece of awesomeness, when i first watched the pictures and trailers, i said: oh crap another stupid merchandising piece of crap, i never watched it until 2014 , i watched the first 5 episodes and wow, I'm really really fascinated by this, every thing is so well done, the characters, the plot, the action, the slugs are so nice and cute that will leave you cursing Pokemon for the rest of your life, the dump idea of shooting tiny creatures out of a pistol ( it was dump) is now one of the coolest aspects of this show, the protagonist of this show is a wonderful, adventurer and a noble teen that quickly became one of the nicest heroes of an animated show iv ever seen( and believe me: i watches a lot of cartoons),he is not like those dump, ---k heads of the year(I'm talking to you Ben 10). The setting of this show is really nice and theme is great: keeping your thoughts and beliefs and stay good in a foreign world is a great deal,( with the help of trustworthy friends off course) all in all, this is one of the best 3 adventure/hero TV shows to watch in 2014 besides MAX STEEL and TMNT 2012!!.

Cartoon made, like many others, on purpose for the purpose of selling toys and I am ready to forgive him for this since in the end it is not bad. Very simple and obvious but makes an acceptable performance.

My husband and I watch this show with our 10yo son. We didn't intend to, but the story line is very compelling. I was a bit disappointed with a couple details in the show, but it won't stop me from watching. This is one show that my husband and I don't mind our son watching. My husband and I often laugh out loud while watching. I'm glad that the dialogue is not over simplified for children. Children are really quite intelligent. Again I hope that the number of seasons for Slugterra begin to rival The Simpsons. I also hope that the plots stay exciting, interesting, and entertaining without being repetitive.
Slugterra is a very interesting, exciting, and interesting concept of layers of worlds within planet Earth. The battle between good and evil is ever apparent. All of the characters are enjoyable. Because of the level of fictional fighting, children younger than 10 MAY not be able to fully realize that this is imaginative and not real. We still have to deal with a level of that in our 10yo son. Otherwise, this show makes you want a Slugterra slug of your own. Thank you, Asaph Fipke, very much. Thank you also to the voice-over actors. Wonderful jobs.

Slugterra is a wonderful show to watch, with a story that talks about a world beneath our feet. Amazing artwork detail and the story itself is adventures, that makes me remember Alice and wonderland. Each character in Slugterra has unique traits even the slugs, Slugterra combines and captures both science and magic. What I enjoy most is the gun shooting action, along with each different slug having a different ability. Never judge a book by it's cover, in this case never judge a slug by it's appearance. Slugterra is something both me and my sister enjoy very much, and hope to see more of in the future. I thank both the creators and actors/actress for making Slugterra Amazing, well that's all for now and remember to Slug It Out.
Don't listen to the lame adults whining on this show. This show is awesome! If you love the idea of slinging powerful slugs at the bad guys and getting them once and for all, then this is for you. Not like rl where adults manipulate to protect their jobs and the economy.

Great show. The weakest part is the molenoid Pronto but other than that the story and introduction to story elements are amazing. Such as twist villains , macguffins and of course it's an omage to classic westerns .

If I were to tell you there's an animated show out there that's pretty much Pokémon, but instead of the monsters being kept in little pokéballs, the trainers fight each other with these powerful slugs that they use as ammo in combat, most people wouldn't believe a single ounce of what I said.
Not only was this show brought to life by Nerd Corps - the same studio known for producing other such shows like Storm Hawks - but it also was created by the same guy, Asaph Fipke. He, along with Chuck Johnson, formed Nerd Corps back in 2002 and had made quite a few animated shows after the years they had spent working as producers for Mainframe Studios.
But the similarities with Storm Hawks don't stop there! While that show's story takes place in the sky-based world known as Atmos, this show does the opposite with the world of Slugterra being centered deep inside the Earth's core. Our main protagonist, Eli Shane, is voiced by Samuel Vincent, who also provided the voices for Aerrow and Dark Ace in SH.
Like its predecessor, this show really does stand out with its worldbuilding, visuals, cast of characters, and the designs of the slugs. I often find Nerd Corps shows to be underrated and this series is no exception. If you haven't seen it, I'd say its definitely worth watching.
This is one of those few Canadian shows that has a rather grounded story and better dialogue than most of the other ones I've seen. Almost like a more mature version of the Pokémon series.

This show is great for children and adults it has likable characters and great action and the jokes aren't just haha funny fart joke L A U G H. Plus they give so much emotion to the characters and even the slugs. And it also has some badass Slowmo shots. But one thing I don't like is that the villains are 50/50 they are either a minor annoyance or someone who is absolutely terrifying and that's not really a nitpick it's barely a problem. All and all it's a great show I highly recommend that you watch and I do wish there are more seasons for the future or it gets on d+ 10/10
Also if you like ninjago the new voice of Lloyd is the same as Eli.
