The screenplay for "Tatort: Lenas Tante" was written by the author Stefan Dähnert, who is closely associated with the Lena Odenthal crime scenes, and the film was staged by Tom Lass, his first director for the "Tatort" series. They begin their story about the relationship between niece and aunt in a light tone, which becomes imperceptibly more serious the further the detectives and the former public prosecutor dig into the past of the victim and the suspect. Ursula Werner plays Niki Odenthal and makes it clear where Lena could have noticed her professional dedication and tenacity.
