Happy Endings Fowl Play/Date

Warning: Spoilers
Alex comes into the bar with Tyler the fascist parrot and is going to Rom com con but Brad cannot go because he is cutting down on spending. This makes everyone come with types of cons but are then told to shut up making everyone go quiet. Dave wrote a song for Alex going away which makes for an awkward moment. Max feels alone and leaves angry which make Dave and Jane thinking of someone for Max to date separately. Alex is about to go to Con and while dancing Penny breaks a plate of Alex's which makes Brad and Penny tell Alex to leave even though the parrot knows they broke the plate. Jane and Dave say they have a guy for Max so he decides to go on the dates. The plate is fixed but just when all is right the parrot dies because of the pain fumes. Brad is slapped by Penny and she comes up with the idea to make it look like the parrot feel out the window. After the dates Max picks neither but picks a bar guy Marcus he really liked to go out with him again. The parrot plan looks well so Penny and Brad screaming throw the parrot out together. Alex believes her parrot is dead but wants to wait for the autopsy. Max's date with Marcus is ruined when Dave and Jane come in with their guys. Brad does not have enough time to destroy the autopsy while Max forgives Jane and Dave. Alex says some words about Tyler so Brad and Penny say they were responsible. Alex then reads the results and finds out that she may have been responsible for giving the bird some alcohol. Funny episode but with not enough Alex the other characters were funny but I wish we saw more Alex because I love her.

This episode is an abomination

Warning: Spoilers
Being 61 years old, I understand that I am not in the target audience. This is the first episode of "Happy Endings" that I have seen. It will also be my last. I have kept parrots for the last 12 years and am a member of a large local bird club. We are constantly trying to educate people on the commitment and education required to keep a parrot happy and healthy. Unfortunately, the moronic and irresponsible behavior portrayed by the characters in this episode that resulted in the tragic death of a beautiful Green-winged macaw does happen far too many times in real life by stupid and lazy bird owners. It is not funny to see it portrayed on TV. Then compounding it by desecrating the body by tossing out of a window into a dumpster is deplorable. By the way, parrots aren't racist. The language that they repeat is learned from people that they have been around. The writers are just sick people.

The reality is that many common household products can be deadly to a bird. Toxic fumes from glue, paint, new electrical appliances, air fresheners, non-stick cookware, shoe polish, aerosol sprays, burning candles, new flooring and smoke can all cause death to a bird because of the way that their more efficient respiratory systems function. Giving a bird alcohol to drink is something that is cruel and inhumane. A typical Green-winged macaw weighs about 3 pounds, while a typical adult human will weigh 40 to 70 times more. The effect from a sip of alcohol on us would be magnified 40 to 70 times more on that macaw. A caring and informed parrot owner would know all of that and make sure that anyone else living in the household would as well.

Parrots are clever and affectionate companions with a sense of humor and devotion that is very human. They do not deserve to be depicted in this way.
