I wondered what would happen next, but nothing happened

Warning: Spoilers
"The Captain" is an Auatralian short film from 2013, so this one is already over five years old and it is mostly known for the several well-known artists working on it in front of as well as behind the camera. This includes Nash Edgerton, who coi-directed this one with Spencer Susser and this duo was also in charge of the script. Add to that Taika Waititi (more known for his Marvel directorial efforts these days), who is also the lead actor here playing the title character, actually the only actor if you don't count these playing the corpses, even if the name Joel Edgerton will surely ring some bells with many. And there's other well-known corpse actors. Actually, these are more writers and directors than you would expect for a film under 6 minutes and at least a minute is closing credits too. Anyway, we have a man here who wakes up in a huge turmoil. He has no idea where he is and everything around him is broken: houses, infrastructure, cars and many dead people nextg to him too? What happened? Will we find out? Do we even care? I must say I lost interest here pretty quickly. The best moment was when the closing credits rolled in because the song used there was pretty nice admittedly. But story-wise and basically all other production values did not impress me I must say. It is not a failure and does look professional, but it's nothing I would ever want to watch again and honestly I think the story here does not really justify being made and put on the screen. All in all, a thumbs-down. Not recommended.
