Mondo Macabro: The Nightmares of Coffin Joe (2002)
This episode in the Mondo Macabro series takes a look at the lasting impact of the Coffin Joe character created by the one and only Jose Mojica Marins. The man himself is interviewed as well as writer André Barcinski, cinematographer Giorgio Attili and editor Nilcemar Leyart. At just 24 minutes this is a good introduction to the Coffin Joe films as well as the controversy that they fell into. It would be nice to get a full length documentary on Marins' career at some point but for the time being this one here is pretty good. The three Coffin Joe movies are looked at briefly and we also hear about how Marins got interested in the cinema and the bizarre.
