Rainbow Dash tells scary campfire stories, which give Scootaloo nightmares, but Scootaloo doesn't want to tell anyone about her bad dreams for fear of being made fun of.

After doing some trick moves on her scooter through Ponyville, Scootaloo is ecstatic when Rainbow Dash notices her, claiming she has some 'sweet moves.'

Scootaloo eagerly tells Applebloom and Sweetie Belle, and about how she wishes she could find a way to hang out with Rainbow Dash, and maybe get her to like her enough to train her.

Applebloom mentions that she and Applejack are planning a hike to Winsome Falls, and that maybe they could invite her and Rainbow Dash to come.

Rainbow Dash accepts the invite, and even Sweetie Belle is able to get Rarity to go.

Arriving at their first campsite, Scootaloo is in awe as Rainbow Dash prepares the campsite, and is happy when Rainbow says she can sleep with her.

As the evening wears on, Rainbow decides to tell scary stories. Telling of one about an 'olden pony' who is constantly searching for her rusty horseshoe, Applebloom and Rarity rush to their respective sisters for comfort, but Scootaloo tries to act like she's not at all afraid.

As she attempts to sleep for the night, Scootaloo drifts off into a nightmare, where she is stalked by the olden pony of the story. Waking up and terrified, she stays awake all night, not telling anyone about her troubles falling asleep.

The next evening, Rainbow sends her to gather firewood, but Scootaloo is so afraid that something is in the nearby woods, that she only collects a scant few branches.

Rainbow wants to tell another ghost story, but Scootaloo tries to tell one about a 'nice pony' that has nothing bad happen to her. Needless to say, Rainbow is not impressed, and tells one about 'the headless horse.'

That evening, Scootaloo tries not to fall asleep, but ends up doing so, and is stalked in her dreams by the headless horse. However, she is surprised when she is visited by Princess Luna in her dreams. Luna claims that it seems that Scootaloo is fearful of something else, and Scootaloo confesses that she is afraid that Rainbow Dash will not accept her if she finds out she was scared by the stories. As Scootaloo begins to awaken, Princess Luna encourages her to face her fears.

Waking up, a strange sound scares Scootaloo, and she rushes from the cave, but ends up plummeting into a river nearby. She is almost washed over a nearby waterfall, when Rainbow Dash rescues her, and demands to know what she was doing so far away from the camp.

Remembering Princess Luna's words, Scootaloo confesses about how scared she was hearing Rainbow Dash's stories. Rainbow then tells Scootaloo a secret: when she was young, she heard those stories, and was originally frightened too. Scootaloo also confesses that she was hoping Rainbow Dash would help train her, and is happy when Rainbow agrees to do so.

The next day (after a good sleep), the entire group reaches Winsome falls, and has a fun time.
