The book was banned in the USSR up until the 1980s, and it was also temporarily banned in the UAE because of its talking pigs, seen to be against Islamic values.

In addition, Gaten Matarazzo will voice Lucky the river otter, Laverne Cox will voice Puff the yellow-crested cockatoo, and Lisa Ortiz will voice Koyana the Siberian tiger.
