Sex & Nudity
-
- Far from being as explicit as "The End Of Evangelion" there is very little nudity with only a few a few minor sexual references
- Mari refers to herself as being the one with "glasses and big boobs" and this is repeated later in the movie
- Asuka stands fully naked in front of Shinji and patronizes him for not paying attention to her (her nipples are covered by her hair)
Violence & Gore
-
- By far one of, if not the most gruesome adaptation of Evangelion, The second half of the movie contains lots of intense violence and gore.
- A man is shot in the head, The bullet blows a large hole in the back of it (offscreen), we then see him pick up pieces of his brain and put them back into his head through the hole, this is very graphic
- While nothing tops the scene listed above, the film has some brief but gory violence throughout, mainly towards the end. One scene depicts an object ejecting itself from someone's eyeball.
Profanity
-
- A few uses of the word "shit", this is all the further the profanity goes
Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking
Frightening & Intense Scenes
-
- Very similar in the psychological aspects to "The End Of Evangelion" very surreal, abstract and intense
- The film's last sequence, while immensely satisfying and heartwarming due to our main characters earning well-deserved happy endings, might be quite emotional for some.
- It can be quite emotional but it is mainly moderate.

Frightening & Intense Scenes
- Other than containing some uniquely upsetting concepts including gore (Humanoid creature being nailed to a cross a la Stigmata, a bleeding, severed head being held, etc.) The film also deliberately messes around with art-styles and expectations to come across as unsettling. In specific there is a sort of Jumpscare involving a photo-realistic human face appearing out of nowhere in one scene.
