Actually a great documentary about kpop history in general
widiacho22 January 2023
Shout out for the team for doing a great job at summerize the entire 15 years long of Super Junior career even from their predebut era until what they are now. The members themself, they doing the narration with little bit of jokes that i think i can watch them talk for hours without feeling boring.

But to be honest, it's a must-watch documentary film for people who really want to know about history of korean idol world in general. Super Junior is like a living fossil (which is cool) from that kind of industry. And they pretty much include many informations about it.

In my opinion, it's a good duration of episode for non-fans who want to get to know Super Junior instantly, but for a fan like me clearly need more episode for more details of their story haha. I mean i expect for real footage of them throwing fists to eo or something like that! Come on XD (jk)

But i love how they let heechul cursing the hell out through the interview. And that one transition from unit kry introduction to sj-t introduction is just brilliant.

What all k-pop groups wish for: to last.
olmedoflores23 January 2023
Super Junior is the perfect example of how groups should keep on going through the years. They have +17 years in the industry, solid solo careers, solid group career, 9 world tours, 11 studio albums, and a solid fanbase.

They truly show the last man standing is the real winner in an industry as heavy and competitive as k-pop is in South Korea and all over the world. Super Junior has been showing they only need to prove themselves and their fans what they really know to do: be excellent artists, as a group and individually.

Nothing gets me more proud than seeing them walking a hard path and overcoming difficulties they had all over their career. Super Junior is still the standard of an all-rounder k-pop super group.

Good introduction of SJ to GP
louisisthesun23 January 2023
Warning: Spoilers
I think the whole show is a good introduction to general public of Super Junior and won't overwhelm them. Good to see their rookie days videos in HD. Even though I am an ELF and knew most of the stories there, I still cried when they tackled about members leaving and Leeteuk's struggle. It also showcased how SJ is a different breed than all idols. Like how they're not afraid to act ugly and dress funny. It's also amazing to see the transition of their songs/choreo/costumes through the years.

Though, I think many ELF (such as myself) feels that it is lacking here and there because SJ did have many firsts, a long list of achievements, >100 concerts (183 ?) and so on and so forth, so two episodes is actually not enough to squeeze all of that. The second part appears rush (?) in my opinion, but I am biased since I know more as a fan.

So overall I think this show is good for general public consumption that won't give them overloaded info but instead would make them curious (hopefully) about SJ.

But for stans like me, it's superficial info but the never before seen videos and HD videos (vs 240p videos then) are well appreciated and brought so much nostalgia.

King of Hallyu
pameleighton23 January 2023
It is an amazing and heartwarming documentary. People who have been working for 17 years, adapting their music to different generations and getting over with hate, deadly accidents and a difficult industry. Once more Super Junior shows why they are King of Hallyu. Over 100 shows around the world and more than 10 albums show us a consolidated boy band.

We can see them as real people who are not afraid of showing their feelings and emotions to their fans and the world. With this, we can understand why they keep having one of the biggest fandoms in the world. We hope we get to see more of them next season.

A MUST WATCH for old and new kPOP fans
taybear-4055925 January 2023
Super Junior's longevity in the kPOP industry is no joke. This documentary showcased how the group has maintained it's bond throughout the years. The pressure of being in a kPOP group is stressful however, the members were able to find a way to deal with each others differences, personality weakness and ambitions. The docu has also shown Leeteuk's leadership quality. As the SUJU leader, Leeteuk does not always lead from the front, he also watches over from behind to let the other members shine.

The docu also shows their creativity and how they promote themselves as a group and/or through solo stints. They know how to keep themselves relevant in the business.

Kpop introduction
kindajt23 January 2023
If you are into Kpop, or even just like a band, this will help you understand a bit of what goes on in the industry, starting with debut it tells you the ups and downs of one of South Korea's most prominent groups. The Last Man standing is worth watching at least once, it shows the reality of idol life, what it means to succeed in a time before social media and how the first steps into the globalization of a genre that started in the 90's were taken.

Both episodes will let you learn about the band that brought a lot of firsts into the genre and that has spent over 17 years in the heart of their fans.

Super Junior 101
hiba-shawqi24 January 2023
For someone who is new to the fandom and knows little about super junior... this is the best documentary to get to know their story and their 17 years history summarized in 2 hours... most of these details are well known to their fans but it is good to have it officially documented for non fans..

Documentary explained the original concept of the group and how SM wanted to try risky ideas that later became normalized in other groups... it followed the hardships they faced since their training career until now and how they become great group despite all they went through..

Hopefully Disney will release more episodes getting deep within this great group.. they deserve it.. the last man standing!

WE WANT SEASON 2!
bluevenegas24 January 2023
Two episodes were not enough for all the history Super Junior has on their 18 years of career in the Kpop industry.

We need season 2 or more episodes to go more in depth about their story, subunits, solo artists, super shows, their impact in the music world all over the globe, etc.

Maybe interviews with fans around the world on how they have been affected by them and how they continue to do so.

I was in tears with the first images 😭 Knowing the pain they went through to come this far. All the things others did for them not to move forward but how they came through and were able to rise and be on the top. 💙💙

Hope you'll do a season 2 or add more episodes to this docuseries.

Thank you.

An emotional story of their sucess as Kings of Kpop
orietonm24 January 2023
They are the main reason K-pop became worldwide known with BTS, Twice and Black Pink. Almost 20 years ago Super Junior debuted as a 13 members group and they changed the course of Korea culture and K-pop in so many ways.

They not only achieved incredible numbers and conquered fans around the world as a group but could also develop as individual artists in different fields (musicals, MCs, dancers, singers, movie actors) and shine in their own colors and personalities. A documentary worth watching with all the ups and downs all they had to go through, in order to be in this competitive environment.

Through the lenses of great producers analysis, It's a delightful, informative and emotional documentary.

well done
mrymmmdas22 January 2023
Warning: Spoilers
There're lot of unseen footage, lot of touching stories, you can't not cry. This is genuinely an emotional wreck documentary.. the negative thing, that the 1st episode was full of points, informative and well done! But then suddenly in the 2nd episode they rushed the whole +15 years in 50 minutes, like they were in hurry to end the documentary.. SJ need much more to share their long history! However it was very informative, touching, and well done~ Hopefully there will be more upcoming projects.

P.s: when they were introducing and talking about the ex-members, I had a little faith that they may appear somewhere, unfortunately it didn't happen, really hope one day we can see them in a documentary, talking about their feelings and memories. They were part of this history once.

Gorgeous Thoughtful Sentimental 17+ Year Journey
MMB_FilmLover23 January 2023
All K-pop groups aspire to Super Junior's longevity, and now we can have a bit more insight into why they are so beloved by fans (called Ever Lasting Friends or ELF) and have succeeded for so long -- with no end in sight! The documentary contained stunning footage from the pre-debut days until now with thoughtful interviews from the current 9 members. They provided commentary on key moments of excitement, stress, and are very much themselves. The only flaw? It was too short (120 min) to cover their extensive history in depth and individual member backgrounds/stories were largely not discussed.

For sentimental value, it's a 10 for ELF
hellozephyrid23 January 2023
Total rollercoaster of emotion. We get to cry and then laugh throughout the documentary.

Although it's within 2 episodes, it's pretty informative about their history, definitely worth a watch for those who's trying to get to know about Suju as well. The plot itself went in chronological order, start from trainee times and up to their 15th anniversary event (the documentary seems to be made in 2020).

I hope the documentary do well with the general public because even if you're not a fan, through this documentary you get to see how they went from regular people to a literal stardom. And the journey wasn't all stars abd rainbows, we can learn how to overcome failures and make it a motivation for success.

Hallyu King 🙌🏼
nsr-0119222 January 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Everything is so good except the ending seem rushed. I hope they could tell us more about their achievements, ex members leaving and their hopes and thoughts throughout their career. The story about Heechul and Kyuhun accidents were so touching and heartbreaking. I hope they can include more stories like backstage stories, more recents incidents and album making process. Their achievements should be include as they are the Hallyu King. And please include Lee Soo Man!! 18 years in this industry and keep going strong up until now is something that not everyone can do it. Fighting Super Junior!!!

Elf Needs more!
arabelf-2184220 June 2023
Its amazing however will be nice if they add more details because super junior have many stories could be a whole season even :) hopefully they make another season with more eps.

I feel like they should be fair and talk about all the members even the ex members of super junior.

It will be also nice if they talk about how being idols affected their life and how was it when they reach the top. Since they were only a one year project but ended up being one of the best kpop groups in the world.

Maybe ep of each member will make us know more about them since ep about all the members is not enough to explain about their life.

A tribute to the King of Hallyu Wave (I wish it's longer and deeper, tho)
snowblusafir28 January 2023
A long awaited documentary, so well made it makes me cry, laugh, and cry some more.

Hat off to Disney for not blurring the former members as they ARE still Super Junior.

2 episodes are not enough to cover all their 17 years span careers and histories, but it's a very nice start. I wish there will be more documentaries about Super Junior with hidden footages and more stories. The good ones, the bad ones, the fightings, the sweetest brotherly moments.

Thank you Disney, and thank you Super Junior for enduring so many hardships. You all deserve the King of Hallyu Wave, indeed.

Stay crazy and let's have fun with E. L. F forever

Ever Lasting Friends <3 SuJu.
