First of all, what I would like to say is the plot of this movie is very original. I stumbled across this one by accident really, and thought, yep, this is the one I watched tonight. However, the acting, is absolutely horrible. I've seen YouTube skits with better acting than this. And unfortunately, that bad acting will make this movie very difficult to get through. And because I was so enthralled with the plot, I kept waiting for the acting to get better, But unfortunately, It never did. Now don't get me wrong, I can appreciate independent movies, that are not mass produced at the Hollywood factories. However, an exciting premise, is absolutely ruined by the acting in this movie. This is the first movie review I've ever done, and since I paid $1.99 for this movie and was so upset after viewing this movie about that $1.99, I felt compelled to warn others to avoid this one like the plague.

"Oculus" is a commendable indie sci-fi action drama that showcases impressive visual effects considering its limited budget. While the cinematography is passable and the audio could benefit from more refinement, the film excels in its storytelling. It weaves a compelling narrative of love, loss, and redemption set against the timeless battle of good versus evil. Mace, reminiscent of Neo from "The Matrix," adds depth to the protagonist's journey, while the sleek suits evoke a sense of intrigue akin to agents. Tara's performance as Zia is a stand out, along with several other performances in the film. Overall, "Oculus" stands out for its unique storyline and meaningful message, making it a noteworthy watch accessible to audiences worldwide.
