That poor Wildebeest

The mother Wildebeest watching her calf die crossing the river was one of the saddest things I've ever seen on television.

I never knew crossing a river could be so enthralling. The alligators, Wildebeest, Zebras all just trying to take care of #1. But then you had that poor baby Wildebeest struggling with the current and the mom trying to help twice but incapable of pushing it. Dang. I was on the edge of my seat but the thing about nature shows....and nature in general: it doesn't always have the happy ending we anticipate like in Hollywood. This is real life. And real life is sad. Reality is sad.
