As was predicted in this column last week, it was Alone that led the show at the box office. The horrex affair had a target audience in mind and in that aspect, the Bhushan Patel film pretty much scored in the territories and the centers where it was expected to do well. As a result, the film collected well at single screens, especially in the interiors. Though multiplexes stayed low during the weekend, the film held on well on the power of gentry audience, as a result of which around 14 crore came in.
These are better collections than Bipasha Basu’s last couple of supernatural films – Creature and Aatma. In fact for a woman-centric film, Bipasha has managed to showcase yet again that she is creating her own charter. The film has basically a week to score well since Baby and Dolly Ki Doli arrive next (with chances of Messenger...

Bipasha Basu, who was seen in Raaz and Aatma, has experienced various paranormal experiences earlier. But after acting in Creature 3D she will certainly think twice before doing another movie in the same genre.
Bipasha had studied a lot about Brahmarakshas before doing Creature 3D. She started taking help of the pandit after she began to experience nightmares related to Brahmarakshas.
A source close to the actress says, “Bipasha is getting ready to travel south to do a special puja (ritual prayers) to ward off the Brahmarakshas that is haunting her ever since acting in Creature 3D, in which the creature is a Brahmarakshas.”
The actress is expected to visit Thirunakkara Mahadeva temple in Kottayam, Kerala, following the advice of a Hindu scholar, towards the end of August.
Since Vikram Bhatt bought Brahmarakshas into his film from Kerala, the pandit has asked Bipasha to visit and do the ritual prayer...

After a frantic 2012 that saw her score a biggie in the form of Raaz 3 other than appearing in Players and Jodi Breakers, it was a relatively quieter 2013 for Bipasha Basu. Her Aatma had a fair run and she had a cameo to play in Race 2. As the year comes to a close, the lady looks forward to a much more eventful 2014 which sees her come together with Vikram Bhatt again in Creature 3D as well as Sajid Khan's laugh riot Humshakals.Meanwhile as for her personal life,...

Suparn Verma's latest film, Aatma, is one that's been on my radar for quite some time. I was more than a little bit disappointed when it didn't open stateside as expected, but I'm happy to see it get its moment in the sun as a midnight movie for the New York Indian Film Festival. The film is something we don't see nearly enough from Bollywood, which is straight ahead horror. This isn't a slasher or anything over the top gruesome like the torture porn we're so used to seeing here, Aatma is, instead, a supernatural thriller more along the lines of the old school ghost stories that no one really makes anymore. Abhay (acclaimed Indian character actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui) is a man on the edge. He...

All of us - men and women, husband and wives, adults and children, have to live with our fears. Sometimes we have to die with them. That's where trouble starts in Suparn Verma's smartly-written, nimbly-executed shiver-giver which, blessedly, doesn't lapse into a gore fest... By the end of this short-and-slick and 'eerie'-isistible horror drama, I did begin to get the feeling that the script, which had so far moved at a symmetrical even and smooth pace, kills too many people. Life is.
