If you're looking to buy a Wii U...
The_Light_Triton31 January 2014
...Then buy the 32GB deluxe version with New Super Mario Bros U + Super Luigi U packed in. Why so? Because it's freaking Mario, that's why! Now I don't have to tell you the plot to a Mario game (They're all the same, Peach gets kidnapped, Mario has to beat bowser to save her, blah, blah, blah.) And this one's no different. Other than the fact you're playing on a Wii U gamepad, and there's a few special items thrown in for your entertainment.

But really, I recommend this title for anyone still stuck in the 80's and 90's. NSMBU Really caters to anyone who loves the old games. The game draws a lot of material from the NES and the SNES games, mostly SMB3, right down to the mini-bosses and main bosses. While some gamers might feel that it's a little stale, I feel that it's like a big expansion and HD facelift to some of my favored classics growing up.

Before closing this review, I just want to vent something (Keep in mind, this review was written just before Feburary 2014) There are a lot of gamers out there who have nothing good to say about the Wii U. They claim it's a colossal failure by Nintendo with a short shelf life when gamers realize how bad it is.

I disagree. Those gamers are only talking like that because the new Legend of Zelda title hasn't come out yet, The new Donkey Kong title is very close to release, Super Smash Bros and Mario kart 8 aren't out yet, but all those games are absolutely mandatory, and when Super Smash Bros comes out, Just watch the sales of Wii U's go crazy.

EDIT; December 23rd, 2017; I was wrong. The Wii U has been officially discontinued this year.

Yet an another amazing "New Super Mario Bros" game for home console
chribren5 January 2014
"New Super Mario Bros. U" is a Mario game released as a launch title for Wii U year 2012, and serves as the second "New Super Mario Bros." game to be released for home console, after the 2009 game "New Super Mario Bros. Wii". This is my first Mario-game for the Wii U console.

Basic plot: Mario, Luigi, Blue Toad and Yellow Toad are having dinner with the lovable Princess Peach. Suddenly Bowser arrives with his airship and invades Peach's castle, and there he stays with the now yet again kidnapped Peach. After having been thrown out far away from the castle, guess what? Mario and company have to save the princess, of course.

This is yet an another amazing 2.5D side-scrolling Mario-game, it's game-play is very similar to "NSMB. Wii" which I also have. What I especially love with this game is, besides from the usual new and old abilities, enemies and obstacles, and riding on Yoshi, Baby Yoshis are present for the first time since the nostalgic "Super Mario World" for SNES. By the Baby Yoshis, the purple Baby Balloon Yoshi is definitely my favorite. Up to four, or eventually five players can play this game together as well.

For more fun and challenges, an extra mode is added with different goals like beating a time record, jumping on enemies without touching the ground etc.

This game is just so "must-have-game" for anyone who owns a Wii U console, and love nostalgic elements coming from any Mario games. Altogether, I give this game a really deserved 10/10.

Most AWESOME game in history

I love this game more than New Super Mario Bros. Wii, it's more exciting, you get to have adorable little baby Yoshis, you get to capture a purple rabbit dude named Nabbit, and you get to have 5 players instead of 4 players. Sounds fun, right? You also get to post some cool posts on Miiverse to share with your friends, too. Also, I love how the ending doesn't take place in Bowser's castle, but it takes place in Peach's castle, in a fiery nightmarish land. I loved it when after Bowser gets defeated, he gets all woozy like he's drunk then Bowser Jr. jumps off the balcony and is all like "I'm coming papa!" You know what I give this game? A 10/10 of course!
