Sex & Nudity

  • the film is about the brutal beating and rape of a woman in Central park in the 1980s and the five men who were falsely convicted of the crime. As such there is mention of rape and sexual assault, but no graphic descriptions. However in one scene there is an image of nudity, in recounting the events of the trial. Pictures of the jury show two of them holding pictures of the jogger naked in the hospital. In one of the pictures her bare breasts are visible, and in another her pubic hair is shown. These images appear on screen only briefly and are easily missed however.

Violence & Gore

  • No violence depicted on screen. Some discussion of the victim's injuries.

Profanity

  • In recounting a police interrogation, one of the Central Park Five remembers a statement one of the officers made to him when he denied raping the jogger: "Don't f^&*ing lie to me, you know you put your @*&$ in her!" Later in the film when recounting how he learned *SPOILERS* that the real perpetrator had confessed to the crime, he warns that he is going to curse and says he immediately uttered, "Get the f*&k out of here!" in disbelief. *SPOILERS*

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • During several voice over scenes images of desks with no one sitting behind them are shown, with an ash tray and a lit cigarette emitting smoke on top of the desk.
