Masterpieces of Italian cinema as "Amarcord", or "Life is Beautiful" are great treasures, but "Limerence" is a precious jewel. From the beginning we are completely immersed in a glossy atmosphere, unique and remarkable. The story is about a jazz singer, Paolo, (Giuseppe Rossi, who also wrote and directed this amazing film), but its beautiful girl leaves him and he falls into a deep creative crisis. When we can not separate us from the person we love, thinking of her every moment, in psychology, this state is called "limerence". A romantic comedy with many funny and sentimental moments, but every scene is never as it might appear. You can't understand the film at first viewing. I've seen the short film at the Cannes Film Festival this year, and see it on the big screen is a beautiful effect. You fall in love with the beautiful photography of the film that transmits sensuality and perfection (after all, one of the themes is the golden ratio). It reminds me very much Fellini's films. It has its own film grammar. Now the short is in race at the next Academy Awards for the Best Live Action Short Film. Could win? It reserves to win. A beautiful sentimental love story combined with modern jazz and the mathematical beauties of nature. Divine.
