It is a vengeance movie, and you either accept the reason it can happen or you do not. If you don't, you may not like the movie. Zoe is mute with some ability to articulate words, and Dane is deeply in love with her. She inherits her father's car, and drives to meet Dane, where they plan to marry. To get there, she has to drive through some desolate SW country and she takes pictures every hour and sends them to Dane. On a desolate road, she seems to be texting and almost hits a person. That person is being chased by a group of yokels, fitting about every stereotype possible. They capture her, make it extremely unpleasant for her and then decide they have to kill her. The man does a poor job and only partially buries her and an old Indian Medicine man finds her and treats her. It is then a movie of vengeance with a twist. For one thing, there is a connection between those men and the Indian, so double duty so to speak. There is a relatively high body count with plenty of gore. I give credit for them not going down the same old path of vengeance which can become tiresome. It is not a great movie but it is also not the same old tortured woman seeks vengeance either.
