Plot

An unlucky farewell follows a turbulent incident. Amy worries that Finn's worst case scenario has come to pass. Without Katie's permission, Lou reads her journal.

Amy finds Copper dead in a field, killed by a lightning bolt that electrocuted him. Amy proposes to Jack that they hold a memorial for Cooper and invite two characters that haven't been on the show in many years, Mallory and her now husband Jake. Once they arrive it is clear they are hiding something about their life. The Heartland family and Mallory and Jake hold a memorial for Copper.

Finn Cotter shows up at the ranch and tells Amy he needs to move away from Hudson. However he is very evasive about the reason he's leaving (once again) which annoys Amy and she presses him for the real reason he is always leaving and being so evasive about it.

In another storyline Lou reads part of Katie's diary and reads that Katie has a crush on an older boy. Tends Lou tells Peter and they are both concerned. When Katie finds out that Lou read her diary she is very annoyed and she and Lou get into a big fight about it. Katie eventually forgives Lou for snooping when she apologizes.

Finn ends up explaining to Amy that he needs to leave because he is helping out a friend's family because he feels it is his obligation after his friend died in an accident where he had been the driver. Then Finn tries to kiss Amy, but after a brief embrace she tells him to leave, which he does.

Mallory decides to tell the Heartland family what secrets she and Jake have been hiding which are that Jake has lost his job and that they are in danger of losing the house and land they live on because they cant afford it. However, Jack finds Jake a job at a nearby ranch and Mallory is surprised to find out she Is pregnant.
