Richie gets the pronouncement of early onset Alzheimers disease. He becomes a greater loose cannon because he can't even remember the most basic things. When he rescues a young girl, he can't find his car. When the sons want to try to confront the Albanians we realize that Richie isn't even cognizant of the deal made with these walking horrors. But Richie's treatment of the father puts them on a collision course.
