Certainly a tear inducing anime about love and friendship and it is also probably the most beautiful hide and seek story we'll ever come across.

Filled with abundance of the characters' childhood memories which are so innocent, pure and nostalgic; and personal struggles, which are quite depressing at times, Anohana the Movie: The Flower We Saw That Day (2013) is certainly a tear inducing anime movie about love and friendship and it is also probably the most beautiful hide and seek story we'll ever come across.

The movie revolves around a group of six childhood friends who used to be really close with each other until one of them died in an unfortunate event. Since then, most of them drifted apart and lived in different degree of guilt in their own. When Menma returned as a ghost and Jintan started to be able to see her apparition, the gang reunited. Though not smoothly but steadily, their friendship rekindled.

Although how the unfortunate event actually happened and caused Menma's death is not evident, this animated feature is worth to watch. The plot may not be straightforward as there are plenty of non-chronological flashbacks but it is touching and heartfelt.

In the end, the biggest lessons learned from this movie is that we must face reality and our feelings. Sometimes, the words and actions expressed hold much more meanings to it which we wouldn't know until we communicate with each other. The characters' memories and struggles are heartbreaking but they are also essential as it reminds us the value of love, life and friendship.

Made me cry

This anime was one of the most emotion heavy animes I've seen. The plot may not seem as appealing as others but it is executed so well, ever character is show to have their own battles and their own way of fighting those. The main characters were amazing... and the ending had me in tears..

I was not so much into the anime, but this was a beautiful story with the kids to grow up to the teenagers who lives with the pain and guilty by their own past. Anyone has experienced we did a small bad things when we were kids, we can sympathize to the characters and got into the story more. This was a beautiful fantasy, I would say.

You can learn about the Japanese culture somehow too.

I recommend to watch it.

I have a nice proposal that I hope you will be interested in, which is to create a short film of 40 minutes in length. The content of the film is that the film should be a representation, and that Menma originally was acting or (a film that talks about Menma's life) and she is alive because this story has a sad ending. Finally, I have a question, why did Menma not say goodbye to her family? I send you greetings for this beautiful series.

Amazing movie:D

Warning: Spoilers
Recently finished watching this movie and it talks about what happened after Menma passed away and that each of them wrote a letter to Menma describing how they were doing. This was a sad anime as it did mention the past when they were writing letters which made me cry but the friendship and love they had were amazing, loved the hide and seek that they played again in one of the scenes.

Would recommend this movie alongside the series as the series talks about Menma and her wish and getting everyone together, in this movie everyone does get closer together and Jintan's dad is amazing, love Menma's brother and mother too as they both missed Menma but in the end the mother forgave Jintan, Tsuruko, Poppo. Anaru, Yukiatsu after they lit the fireworks, this also made me cry too which I didn't expect and I'm glad everyone was happy in the end including Menma in the picture:)
