Unusual visuals for a great cover song

An excellent case of a cover that beats the original in countless ways. While 10CC original version has some unusual characters that made it become a hit, this soft rock version by The Pretenders becomes a power ballad that doesn't betray the original except that it takes a whole new level, it makes you appreciate more the lyrics, or at least it's something that when you hear it you can dance along. This rendition for "I'm Not In Love" was made to be included on the soundtrack of Adrian Lyne's "Indecent Proposal" (of which I don't have any recollection if the song was actually played there).

Lead singer Chrissie Hynde is the main figure in the video as a series of objects shown in a highly abstract view and manner appear around her and everywhere as she performs the single, and a few clips from the image are shown from a distance along with her act and the objects as well. If the general idea is to promote a movie with its soundtrack I must say it's a poor promotion for the movie - the song is completely alright and sells it by itself. But having the film clips shown in such an unusual distant way where you can't figure out what happens between Demi Moore, Robert Redford and Woody Harrelson in some of the key moments from the picture is strangely distracting and it does not make you curious in seeing it except for the song and Hynde's perfomance. Bottom of line: the song definitely makes it watchable. 7/10.
