Popular Korean actor Shin Joo Hwan is all set to get married to his non-celebrity girlfriend next month. Joo Hwan told media outlets: “I’ve known her for some time, and we’re going to get married.”

He shared that his girlfriend is in the corporate sector in the entertainment industry.

“She runs a business in the same industry, so she’s very understanding of my job as an actor,” added the actor, reports koreaboo.com.

The actor, who debuted in 2013 with the short film ‘Young Artists’, is known for his roles in ‘Fashion King’, ‘Producers’, ‘Cafe Midnight’, and ‘Arthdal Chronicles’.

He also is loved for his work in other K-Drama’s such as ‘Summer Strike’, ‘Bad’ and ‘Crazy, Cheese In The Trap’.

Project based on the best-selling fantasy novel stars Liu Yifei and Yang Yang.

Im Global has picked up international rights to Alibaba Pictures’ fantasy romance Once Upon A Time, co-directed by Anthony Molinara and Zhao Xiaoding.

Starring Liu Yifei (White Vengeance) and Yang Yang (I Belonged To You), the film is based on best-selling fantasy novel To The Sky Kingdom and is the first Alibaba Pictures title handled by Im Global.

Zhao is an Oscar-nominated DoP with credits including Zhang Yimou’s House Of Flying Daggers, The Flowers Of War and The Great Wall. Molinara is a VFX supervisor who won an Oscar for his work on Spider-Man 2.

Im Global has also picked up South Korean action thriller Real, directed by Love Lee and starring Kim Soo Hyun (The Thieves), Sung Dong II (The Accidental Detective), Lee Sung Min (A Violent Prosecutor) and Choi Jin Ri (Fashion King).

Currently screening in the Korean Cinema Today - Panorama section at Busan, Right Now, Wrong Then sold to France (Les Acacias), Brazil (Zeta Films), Spain (La Aventura Audiovisual), Portugal (Leopardo Films), Austria (Stadtkino-Filmverleih) and Sweden (Folkets Bio).

Finecut’s new pick-up Fatal Intuition stars Joo Won (from Fashion King and TV series Good Doctor) as a brother who goes after his only sister’s killer with the help of a woman who can foresee other people’s deaths played by Lee You-young (best actress winner at Milano for her performance in Late Spring).

Established character actor Yoo Hai-jin (from hits such as Veteran, The Pirates and The Unjust) plays the prime suspect.

Korea’s Finecut has pre-sold Min Kyu-dong’s erotic period drama The Treacherous, starring Ju Ji-hoon, to Pretty Pictures for France and French-speaking Swiss pay-tv.

Finecut has also sold Im Kwon-taek’s Revivre to Taiwan’s Way Sen International, which plans to release the film after Taipei Film Festival in July.

In addition, Finecut’s period drama The Royal Tailor has gone to Turkey (Sinema TV), Thailand (Coral Culture Contents) and the Philippines (Viva Entertainment). Viva Entertainment also acquired Finecut’s Fashion King, while Coral Culture Contents took both Haemoo and Chronicle Of A Blood Merchant.

Finecut is also introducing Kim Ki-duk’s new film Stop and Yeon Sang-ho’s zombie animation Seoul Station to buyers in Cannes. Both films are currently in post-production.

The Seoul-based company’s slate also includes Shin Su-won’s Madonna, which is screening in Un Certain Regard; Lee Najeong’s Snowy Road, about ‘comfort women’; Jung Ji-woo’s coming-of-age drama Fourth Place (working...

Exclusive: Korea’s Finecut has picked up Circle Of Atonement, the feature directorial debut of Park Eun Gyoung and Lee Dong Ha, whose credits as writers include The Terror Live.

Up-and-coming star Son Ho-jun from Death Bell and TV series Reply 1994 plays a high school teacher who lost his fiancee years ago while Sung Dong-il (Miss Granny, Mr Go) plays the detective that investigated her murder. Kim You-jung plays his teenage daughter who grows close to the teacher, sharing intimate secrets.

Produced by Film Dorothy and presented by Sansoo Ventures Inc. in association with Cgv Arthouse, the film wrapped shooting last week.

Finecut also sold The Royal Tailor to Japan (The Klockworx), China (Lemon Tree Media Company), Taiwan (Av Jet International Media), Malaysia and Brunei (Hwa Yea Multimedia) and worldwide in-flight rights (Emphasis).
